Likes

Faculty is excellent, high quality labs, availablity of most of the instruments and reagents, air conditioned class rooms.
Overall system is excellent, easy and fast official processes
1 educational tour is also done during 5th semester

Dislikes

Admission as well as Semester fees are high somewhat than other departments.
No intrinsic opportunity of any summer internships

Course Curriculum Overview

In this course various fields of biology are explored, leads to appearance of many opportunities for the master's degree. Regular practical classes helps to gain in hand experience. Viva voce helps to gain confidence among students. Exams are moderate level of difficulty, also internal class tests are conducted for preparation.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 37000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fees wa around Rs -37000/- in 2019 but now it's around 44000/-, it includes the admission, 1st semester fees and a security deposit of Rs 5000/- that will be refunded after completion of the course. Semester fees- was around 20000/- per semester. Govt provided scholarships are available. Student credit card facility is also available.

Campus Life

Annual festival called Caledonia, other festival like food festival, science fair also take place, timing varies. There is a huge central library contain plenty of books, one can read, borrow, can get access to journals from library computers. Annually sports also take place. Blood donation camps are also frequent. There are cultural committees one can take membership.

Admission

Admission is done by online centralised process according to the marks obtained in higher secondary exam, no entrance test is done. The application form is available in the college website. Some seats are reserved for Cristian students, also SC/ST/OBC reservations are available.

Faculty

5-6 teachers for 25 students, they are extremely qualified, have great knowledge, experience and responsibilities towards students. Parent teacher meeting and one to one mentor mentee session also done.

SXC Kolkata is a gem of a college.

Placement Experience:

Computers are so vast that masters is mandatory and therefore I have certain plans for that. However big scale IT companies come here and students of Computer science Hons have had placements worth 6-10 lakhs easily. My plans are to appear for the job interviews but not taking any as I want to study more.

I also applied to the main university but didn't get a chance there. That is why I had to take admission in this blasted institution. I received the rejected from the University due to my lack of percentage in the paper called marksheet. That is what went wrong. The admission process is completely done through the internet. To apply one must have a minimum of 60 % marks in their previous courses. That allows you to fill up the application form. It was good to be a part of that college

You have to pass the 12 th boards with above 90% marks then only you'll get the college. They always have the application form and all the informations in there official college website. There was reservation policies as I was sc so it was a little bit low cut off for my reservation. The exam pattern and difficulty level was a little bit hard.
