Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Financial aids are available for the caste reserved students, however it might be a tedious process. The fee is broken down as: semester fees+admisssion fees+ hostel fees (if availing). for semester 1, my fees was Rs. 40,000. There are a few scholarships/ government provided aids that are applicable in this college.
Campus Life
Mostly, there are not exactly "fests" held here, instead there are events like sports day and talent shows, the microbiology department hosts a "food fest" every year. Similarly, every department has their individual events. The campus life is fairly laid back, there are indeed many slow days. The campus has 4 buildings mainly- The main building, Millennium building, Jubilee building, and the Duff building. The con about our campus would be not having the ground INSIDE the campus, its at a 5 minute walking distance from the main campus.
Admission
The admission process, though easy, was quite tedious. It was a long wait due to multiple phases and lists for admission. The application form was available on the official website along with the guidelines. Uploading all the lists faster would be much appreciated!
