Likes
- A lot of cultural fests would take place from time to time
- The college infrastructure was good to look at from the outside
- There was a cafe callled encave with served good food and was hygenic
Dislikes
- Most of the faculty i had couldnt speak basic english. They would start teaching in Marathi even when some of the students couldnt understand them because they are not maharashtrians.
- There was no coordination between teachers about timings or anything. Would lead to lot of confusion. They would blame the students for this.
- The parking is a big issue. When they built a new underground parking space but this wasnt usefull as they got rid of other parking spots. So didnt solve anything
Course Curriculum Overview
I had an intership where i heard one of the higher ups saying the students in mit have no knowledge ir awareness about the topic. This should sum it up. Many topics were relavant but companies require a lot more and mit doesnt provide this. However i have a friend whose studying in a different department and i heard their teachers are smart and aware. So this might only be department of computer science's issue.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees had to be paid in installments in the college website. The website was full of bugs and hard to use. The first intallment was 75000 inr and the second was 60000 inr. The payment structure was not optimal. I had to pay 20000 inr 4 times because the website was showing that the card was not working when i go above 20k, even though there is no limit to the card. You also had to pay exam fees, 5000 inr per year, and you couldnt attend the exams if the fee wasnt paid. This fee wasnt apparently included in your entire college fee.
Campus Life
There were a lot of cultural festivals and social events throughout the year. Campus life was fun. There is a turf inside the campus where ee played football from time to time. The library was huge and probably has every book youll ever need. I dont think there were any fictional books though. The classrooms had a smartboard and a few benches and thats about it.
Admission
I chose this university because i heard it had good placement. How wrong i was. The admission process was pretty straight forward. There was a MCQ test we had to do and then an interview which was also easy. If you have the money, the admission wont be a problem. A lot of the students were not smart at all. Once you do get the admission, you just have to submit a fee documents.
Faculty
The faculty was absolutely garbage. Most couldnt speak basic english. No coordination between any of them. There were 4 exams in a year not including several class tests. A lot of the time , topics not taught to us would be included in these exams. Anurag, the ml teacher we had literally threatened to fail us and would target the class, not give marks , typical useless teacher. He even failed the personal interview of a few of my friends going into masters out of spite. We had to attend extra lectures because many if the teachers couldnt finish their units in time. There were some teachers that were nice, like the java teacher, i dont remeber her name, and navnath sir. Out second and third year class teacher, gauri, a teacher without basic english knowledge or teaching ability, was approachable for problems but no changes ever happened. How she was the class teacher of a final year batch still baffles me.
Interview Experience
I had an interview where they just asked basic questions about me and then gave me a scenario and hoe i would solve it. The whole thing was over in 5 mins. This is for ug courses, pg might be tougher. I prepared for thr interview just by searching for most asked questions in the internet
