Course Curriculum Overview

1

The kuhs curriculum is average. They provide a serious stress among all the medical students.Even for now our exams dates are not being informed inspite of having additional subjects we have this year. And they take certain decision unnecessarily which makes a bigger burden for students.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

They provide 1 year of compulsory intership in this college itself. Also some are posted in kazhakootam hospital also. No other internships are provided. Research works are promoted here. Students are asked to research on the topic of their desire and publish in NMC.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly we pay 755000/- along with 54000 for mess charges and 30000 for hostel fees. For NRI they pay 1Cr for the whole course duration. Some students have govt. Seats so they have to pay only govt. Fees. The Teaching is average with infrastructure not upto expectations. Not getting a good infrastructure as that of the money we are paying for. The food is also below average from the hostel.

Campus Life

1.5

College events are conducted yearly like arts and sports. Sometimes arts fails to happen. And a big event called confluenza was lastly conducted in the year 2019 and later not held just because the management were not willing for that. The library facilities are really good with a calm and quiet atmosphere.the library provides various books helpful for our studies. They provide various journals also in our campus. The facilities in class is really poor. Smartboard will fail to work always. The AC are there but never switched on. They have a seperate switch which the students are not accessible for. The students are really interested in extra curricular activities and are always practicing in the ground. But the management says you came here to study so no sports. Amongst this stressful life sports is the only relief a person can get which is not supported by the management. And the grounds in the campus has no good infrastructure in there. It's always the union which puts some effort

Hostel Facilities

1.5

We have 2 blocks provided.Juniors are admitted in the main block where common bathrooms are present. With one shelf and 3 bed,3 tables and 3 chairs. No other facilities present. 3 students are admitted in one room. If needed double or single occupancy can pay high charges. Senior are usually admitted in mess block where one bathroom is attached in each room. Still with 3 members in one room. Here not shelves are there. Only ned table and chairs are provided. Meal is really poor. Many students are upset after eating hostel foods. Registration processes are not so hectic. It's easy. After admission students can be admitted to their rooms in the hostel. I have not rented room. I stay in hostel room itself.

Admission

I took this college just because I got admission in this college According to the neet rank of mine. I didn't get any rejection. I got my first admission here itself so I came and took admission here itself. Here students are being allotted by their neet UG exam marks and rankings. The only exam accepted here is neet UG. For pg neet pg exams are considered. For my year students around 10000-11000 ranks in Kerala were eligible in this college with around 450-550 marks in their neet UG examinations. comparing to other colleges the infrastructure is really poor. And the dedication of the teachers for making theory students study is more seen in other colleges. They are not interested in letting students for doing extra curricular activities. The students too need some sounght of fun amidst their stressful lives. And the management is so much interested in finding out what mistakes we do rather than thinking more about how to make their students benefit from their life in this college.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are less here. Many of them have resigned and not at all replaced. Faculty to Student relationship is really good. We have around 150 students in one batch with less faculty. About exams around 2 internal exams plus models are conducted.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
