- The college atmosphere is very friendly. The faculties are mainly from government colleges and they are very well versed in their job.
- There are state of the art labs and other equipment and mannequins and skill labs to make learning very engaging
- There is enough restaurants and shops within the campus and the location is in the highway which makes transport easy
Dislikes
- The academic pressure is a lot which makes it difficult to focus on other aspects of college life
- There are not many programs compared to that in other government medical colleges
- There is no special attention given to students who need attention
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
Internships Opportunities
Since it is a medical degree there are no placements as such but we are trained to face the PG exams. We have a 1 year internship after the course. Most of the students opt for PG preparation after that
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is around 6 lakh per ann and the fee will keep increasing every year by a small amount which is not much actually compared to the exposure we get. The fee structure is same for OBC and general category students but for SC and ST it is way less. The NRI fee is 20 lakh per annum which is the basic price in all self financing medical college in kerala . There is no scholarship as such for the students but there are other private scholarships for which the students can apply .
Campus Life
There's an annual arts fest which is the most looked out program in our college and a lot of effort goes into it. We have one big central library and all the books related to medicine is available . We also have another non academic library . Sports is given utmost priority in our college and a lot of competions are held for sports. There are many clubs i. our college like dance club , music club , arts club
Hostel Facilities
We have separate hostels for boys and girls in our college. The hostels accommodate 3 people in a room with attached bathroom. There is a bed a cuboard, a storage space, table and chair and a bed for each student. The meals are authentic kerala food but it is repetitive making it boring after some time. We have access to swiggy , zomato etc The registration process starts as soon as you take admission .
Admission
I applied to other colleges like Pushpagiri and Amala but i couldn't get there because of my Neet score. I chose this college as it had an upper hand in academics and have almost secured the top rank among colleges. The eligibility criteria is purely based on how much you score in Neet. With a minimum of 550 marks to stand a chance to get admission here.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio will be about 1 faculty per 15 students. All the faculties are equally commendable in their work and are willing. to help in every aspect . There are roughly 3 main internal exams one model exam and then the final university exam . The exams are all conducted based on previous years papers making it very useful for last revision .
