Course Curriculum Overview:
The MBBS curriculum has changed for the year 2019 onwards, it now follows the CBME curriculum, which is competency-based medical education. This curriculum is highly efficient and effective in creating competitive and strict rules that will allow the medical student to be ready to do what he/she is required to do. The curriculum is based on repeated examinations and tests for the student which do place a huge burden but considering the long run.
The main exams occur at the end of each academic year, which will detemrine the eligibilty to advance into the next year. The exams are made so that only those which have the required knowledge and competency can pass the year and those who do not are required to write the 'save the year' exam which appears after 1 month after the publishment of the result. If they pass, they can join their peers. If they fail they have to wait for 1 year so that they can write their exams with their juniors. A medical student can only write their exams 4 times, upon failing all of them - they are labelled as 'course out ' that is, they cannot continue this course anymore.
