Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum encourages the students to take elective subjects from different departments. This helps in the broadening of knowledge and gaining skills for the student devlopment. The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical components. For science students there are well equipped labs and for commerce students there are seminars and workshops that are held in the college. The college follows a continuous evaluation process, with regular assignments, tests and practicals.

Internships Opportunities

4

The placement cell provides students with the opportunity of internships at various companies. The college also hold an internship fair INCREMENTUM where companies visit the college for providing students with the internship opportunities and job offers. The internships are offered in various domains ranging from finance to content writing with a stipend also ranging from 5000-15000.

Placement Experience

4

After completing the 5 semester students become eligible for campus placements. The college offers campus placements and is visited by renowned companies. The college has a highest package of 23 lakhs for the year 2024 and 90+ students get placed in companies. My plans after graduation is to do an MBA for that I will give CAT in my final year of the graduation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fees for bcom is 31,100 that I have paid on a yearly basis. This includes the college fund amount, tuition fees and other charges. The fees for other courses might differ due to the facilities they avail such as fees for bsc.physics hons. Is 33000, Whereas for political science Hons. Is only 28000. The college also offers some scholarship schemes like registering on NSP portal will make you eligible for getting a scholarship according to the eligibility criteria.

Campus Life

4

The college offers a vibrant atmosphere where students from different cultural and regional backgrounds come together. Students celebrate different festivals, participate in cultural events and enjoy a sense of community. The annual fest Manjari that happens at the end of February where students from different colleges also come enjoy and participate in fashion shows, dance, drama etc. the library also have a wide variety of books for academic and also for enhancing students knowledge.

Admission

I have also applied for University of Lucknow and BHU and got selected but prefer to get admission in DRC because of the diversity of the students in the college and also the faculty and college environment is preferable over other colleges. In order to get admission one have to give CUET. There are different cut offs for different courses such as for bcom hons. The cut off is 760 for gen category and for political science Hons. is 750.

Faculty

4

The faculty of commerce department is of great help and they are very supportive and approachable. They guide you throughout the term and encourage open discussions, ensuring students feel supportive both academically and personally. The exams are held twice in a year along with some internal assessments and practicals that vary across different courses.

Remarks:

College is good if you are really participating in society and getting exposure to events and develping skills. If you just want to study and get a degree you may get disappointed at the end semester where you would find other colleagueous having fun and they were actively participating in many events and were recognised by some awards and trophy.

Remarks:

The college on an overall is extremely amazing however the college does need to work a little on the infrastructure there are a lot of students and less space there always has been space crunch in the college premises and I also feel gargi should have an hostel of its own to provide accommodation to students who really cannot afford PGs because even if students who come from all across India to study in DU because of its subsidised education it really isn't a practical idea if they do not get subsidised accommodation at the same time.
