- clinical exposure - 8/10 (both private and govt hospitals linked to the college so patient load is very high)
- multiple hostels to choose from for girls and freedom to not opt for hostel
Dislikes
- college campus is small with new buildings under construction
- General hostel for boys is outdated, though new construction in progress
- tier 2 city creates less happening city life
Course Curriculum Overview
Patient load being high creates diverse exposure for all budding doctors, opportunities for research and journalism also present in college frequency of examinations on par with the syllabus completion and comprehension.
Internships Opportunities
Internship offered by college hospital itself, with a stipend of 40k offered to govt quota students, but no stipend to privated students as of yet. 1 year Rural bond compulsory for govt students and private students in case of shortage.
Fees and Financial Aid
Private fees: 4900000 for 4.5 years govt fees ( for karnataka quota) : 1.5 lakhs/ year Management quota fees: variable- 1.5 cr to 2 cr neet cut off for private quota 2023: 580 /42k rank govt quota cut off for neet 2023: 530
Campus Life
Not much to campus life, however college is situated in the heart of the city, so the neighborhood is very happening, with restaurants, shopping places etc in close proximity to college and hostels. all classrooms equipped with cctv, projectors etc, Lab equipment upto date with modern tech. dissection hall with cadaver to student ratio high, i.e, 1:30 various clubs and student associations actively organizing events and fests throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities
International hostels all equipped with acs and attached washrooms, gym and laundary area. Mess shared with dental hostel Fees: 84000 Old boys hostel has an old building with common washrooms, attached under construction. Mess food very nice and affordable Fees: 56000 Girls hostles 3 in number scattered around the city. Fees: 50000
Admission
College one of the oldest and best among other colleges of karnataka (both private and govt included) patient to bed ratio higher than other hospitals, plus greater exposure to diverse clinical cases. Eligibility includes clearing neet with a minimum of rank of 42k, as per 2023 trend for private quota seat. Admission via registration to KEA under karnataka government.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is good, with over 10 profs in each department within first year itself. most faculty members are highly qualified and very helpful and learning experience is also good. 3 internal examinations and 1 final proffessional examination at the end of every year conducted by RGUHS University Passing rate is very high
