A Life at SVNIT

Curriculum was designed in such a way that students get familiar with real world engineering appications along with studies.Teachers used to teach very fast so it became very tedious task to grasp the things comfortably.There is need of improvement.

Students are eligible for placement from 1st sem itself.Companies like John deer ,Bajaj, Mahindra , Akash institute ,Unacademy (Ed tech platform) visited our campus for our branch.For Civil branch , L and T ,Linde,Midas e.t.c companies visited.For electrical and electronics ,HP,Intel,Microsoft e.t.c visited. Highest package offered was Rs 40 lpa. and average package is Rs 6 lpa.Mostly companies are offering role of PGET .Approximate 70% students got placement through campus.I got placed in Unacademy as a educator of NEET physics with a package of Rs 10 lpa.

In first yr I Paid Rs 99000 course fee and in second year I paid Rs 84000 course fee.For each semester ,Tution fee is Rs 35000. Lab fee is Rs 3000 per semester. Admission fee is Rs 2000 at one time (At the time of admission).Institute developement contribution is Rs 12000 (One time).Security money is Rs 5000 ( Refundable). Seat rent of hostel for double occupancy is Rs 4000 per year.My one batchmate of SC category told me once that he has to pay only 3000 Rs. I used to get Rs 12400 per month stipend for 22 months of my course from MHRD as I was GATE qualified student. Also We used to get Rs 5000 per year as contingency fund for buying stationaries, electronics items etc. from college.

The annual cultural festivals used to held in the month of FEB. The name of festival was SPARSH. The MMCT cricket tournament used to hed every year in month of NOV-DEC.In library,amost all books used to be available along with E-books .

Hostel provided for Mtech student was Gajjar Bhavan.Rooms were double occupancy.Facilities provided in each room were fan, Study table, WiFi connection,Bed and cupboard.Rooms were very spacious.Coming to mess .The food provided was very oily and unhealthy

I choose SVNIT over other NITs purely on the basis of its excellent placement scanerio.Through CCMT admission portal, I applied for number of NITs including NIT warangel,NIT nagpur,NIT jaipur,NIT andra pradesh.In 1st round ,I got NIT Andhra ,but in 2nd round, I got NIT Surat which I kept as my 1st preference .I also got manufacturing engineering specialization which was my 1 st preference.Exam accepted for my course is GATE.I qualified the GATE exam in year 2022. Without qualifying the GATE exam also, one can take admission to SVNIT Surat through Institute spot round ( if vacencies are there).But after qualifing the GATE exam, the student gets Rs 12400/- stifend from MHRD .The student who took admission in spot round wil not get this stifend.

Faculties of college were very student friendly.They used to help student in any situation.My favourite faculty was Dr Shailendra Kumar Sir.He used to teach additive manufacturing in second semester of my MTech.
