SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE IN LAW- THE PROS AND CONS

Since the course is BCALLB, there will be six computer science subjects in total for 10 semesters and all other papers are related to the field of law. The main problem is that the portion is not not usually completed before the examination. It is said that it the duty of the students to complete it by themselves. Proper teaching is done only upto the conduction of mid semester only. Then internals will be started and the remaining potion will be left unteached. It will be great if proper teaching is done and potions are completely taken.

It is government Law university. Basically top most law college in tamilnadu. Per annum fee will be around 75000 to 80000. For the first year around you'll be paying around 90,000. There is also scholarship provided for SC and STs and also for the first generation graduates.there is also this scheme of 7.5% reservation for the students who have studied in government school form class 6th to 12th. . These students can study for free. This is the most affordable college compared to all the private colleges in tamilnadu. It is selected based on the criteria of 12th board marks.

The worst thing I found here is our college campus is very small and we don't have many activities to be involved like in many other universities. And our college hours is also only 4 hours. The only thing we have here is NCC, NSS and legal AI to participate. clinic for students.

Speaking about the hostel, since it is a government University we have only limited hostel seats. And for girls there are two hostels one in campus and the other is out of campus for which we have to travel through train. And one out campus hostel for boys. The food and facilities provided is decent for the fee of monthly 5000- 6000/- we pay. The hostel is alloted on the basis of distance ed travel form our hometown.

I applied for three colleges totally. The other too are SRM, katankulathur and SASTRA Thanjavur. The cutoff here is much higher here than the other two colleges. I basically want to practice law. So i thought that it would be great if I could come to court on regular basis and My college is very close to Madras High court and I found that as a great advantage.

There are 4 departments in each year. And 156 students are admitted in each department and three classes for each department in 52:1 student ratio. Semesters are usually conducted in November and may of every year.
