Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is quite interesting. All the main subjects are included in our curriculum. It starts from the basics. This influenced my decision to choose this course. On the first year we study the basics for engineering irrespective of department. Every department students will be studying the same subjects like mathematics ,Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electrical, Civil in the first year. From the second year we enter into our departments. It is necessary to develop a basic knowledge in all fields of engineering. Thus this curriculum prepares you for real world applications and further academic pursuits.Theory and practical classes are provided.Number of hands on projects can be improved in course curriculum and Teaching methods. There are industrial visits every year in the curriculum.Module tests and internal exams are conducted twice in every semester. After that main exams are conducted .Difficulty level of exam varies from students to students.

Internships Opportunities

Sark Cables pvt limited Kanjikode is one company that offered internships with stipend. It is a cable manufacturing company. We done project on developing a smart charging station for EV.We got the expected outcome from our project. We developed a solar Integrated smart charging station with multi port charging facility with dynamic pricing.

Placement Experience

3.5

Campus placements are all good in our college. It all depends on the Performance of the candidates in the aptitude test and interviews. From the 7 th semester onwards placements begins.College give placement trainings from third year.Beside academics, developing additional skills are much important for getting placed in good companies. Speridian, TEAL, Cognizant, Accenture, Mitsogo ,SIB, UST Global, Qburst,Harita Techserv,TCS are some companies visited our college for placements. The highest package offered was 12 LPA and average package was 3 LPA.60% of students got placed.I'm also placed in a good company. My plan is to find a competitive career.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm a 2024 batch pass out student of Jyothi Engineering College Thrissur.I got E-grantz scholarship for the 4 years of Study. On the first year I paid 17500 rupees including the caution deposit of about 10000/- and admission fee.I'm free from tution fees as it is paid through my scholarship amount. You will be only applicable for E-grantz scholarship when you are enrolled through KEAM merit list.Students who have no scholarships may get fee deductions depending on the 12th marks.Students admitted through NRI category will have to pay about 44000/- per year along with donation fee.

Campus Life

4.5

Our Techfest Tharang was conducted grandly in every year during November month. Our library is huge with all theory books of each departments and also additional technical books and journals.Apart from central Library there is departmental libraries too.Smart classrooms are provided in each departments for developing a smart learning environment.Sports days are conducted every year and the winners and participants are given appreciation and rewards. We have a huge ground, badminton court and a basketball court in our college .Extracurricular activities are conducted every year like arts day, quiz competitions, essay writing ,Painting competitions ,Debates. Our college also has a musical band and dance group named J-squad.There is clubs and social groups like IEDC,IEEE,IEI,NSS operating actively.Et lab is a faculty student interaction portal through which students are updated regularly.

Admission

I opted for JECC because it is an NBA accredited and NAAC accredited college with a good infrastructure and learning atmosphere.I applied for Bsc degree in Physics in NSS College Nenmara and I got selected there, but then I changed my mind to join Engineering as it is a professional degree. The one thing in colleges I searched for is the NBA accreditation. Our college is NBA accredited and I heard a good review from others about our college.I get rejected from govt college as I couldn't meet the eligible KEAM rank for there.I attempted KEAM 2020 and I got cleared in my first attempt and I chose to join JECC.If you have secured a pretty good rank in KEAM you can get allotted in Govt Engineering colleges.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio was appropriate about 2:3.I was a student of EEE department. As the students in our department is comparatively less the faculties are really sufficient.Faculty to student relationship is good.We were able to develop a good bond with our faculties. All the faculties are well approachable to clarify any doubts. They gaved us much freedom and they were very friendly to us .I like all the faculties as every one is friendly with us.There is no faculties I didn't like.Every one says EEE is a tough department ,and many refuses to take this course. But I think it is not that much difficult if you are an average student. All the faculties are expertised in their fields. We need to attempt 2 internal exams for every every subjects in a semester and a main exam. For practicals there is only 1 internal and then main exam. The number of subjects vary with semesters. On an average there is 5 subjects in every semester.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
