Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Its less burdensome and gives u ample time to study for other examination. It also gives u time to explore internships, moot, adrs, competitions etc. Curriculum is pretty focus with students focusing on getting industry ready. More inclusive diversity of professors is needed with more practical teaching Only two set of exams every sem which is pretty easy to. Pass is conducted. So u can get by pretty easy

Internships Opportunities

1.5

Students can intern in various law forms Chambers in house legal Council offices public policy research forums centres media houses etc. Generally one works as a legal researcher and and his task include legal research from various database going to courts working on clerical data working on various research projects learning new laws etc the college does not help a lot with internships with some opportunities provided yet one does not rely on it. Students pursue internships themselves by mailing the flow forms and trying to connect with them for a slot availability.

Placement Experience

2

The placement scene is bad as compared to top NLUs students can start as early as possible to fetch an internship that can turn into a preplacement offer. Students do not need to wait for college placement as it is not reliable and is not a very lucarative package. The salary package starts from 6 lakh and the average package can be anywhere between 10 to 12 lacs and the highest package by PO and forms generally is around 21 to 22 lacs. Student can work in law firms, in house, Chambers, public policy research forums, centres, media houses, etc Around 30% of the student get placed due to pre placement offers and college campus placements A lot of the students who are not placed prepared for competitive exams like UPSC Judiciary Jag. I plan to prepare for competitive exams too.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are around 250000 year including tuition ans hostel fees. Apart from the 50000 for mess. It increases every year by 5% Fees are same for all. With 250000 inclusive of everything except mess. Scholarships are available for SC ST Merit based, need based, for north eastern students and third party too.

Campus Life

4

Annually a College Fest based on sports called Zelus happens during the first week of March every year. Apart from that several of the moots, adrs, debates and other competitions along with conferences are held every year so almost every month there is a competition going on. Students from other colleges often come for such competitions and networking opportunities are available. All major facilities are available by the college such as computers Moot court halls seminar halls Conference Hall air conditioned classroom normal class rooms Wi-Fi access to major journals and data bases etc. Sports is given a lot of emphasis with students coming and going for annual fests which is also reimbursed by college. Extra curricular activities also includes singing dancing etc Major events are held so that all the activities can be catered to a lot of clubs student centres and academic centres are available for students to pursue extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is pretty clean with double Occupancy in the first three years and single Occupancy in the last 2 years washrooms are common along with water coolers on every floor regular maintenance and cleaning is done. Mess is attached to the hostel and the food quality is pretty decent while the taste can change from time to time based on the contractor it is above average as compared to any other college with a variety of Punjabi food available. Hostel is compulsory for all and is inclusive in the fees itself around 35000 is the cost of the hostel which is included in the total fees there is no PG or other facilities available nearby.

Admission

As per my rank its the best college I got. I applied to other colleges like GLC but came hear due to it being an NLU. I wasnt rejected from any other college. Common law admission test has to be given. It can be given from students from any stream after class 12th. For cut off your rank should be below 1100

Faculty

2

The faculty ratio is 1:60. They are approachable but students have to put in extra efforts Faculties are knowledgeable but there is scope for improvement. There are two exams every sem mid semster and end semester that needs to be passed along with projects. 90% pass and is pretty easy. The curriculum is pretty basic and easy.

This is a little vulnerable part of our university as placements aren't it's biggest strenth. A batch size of 300 and only half of ir finds placements from RGNUL. Yes around 40 odd firms have inked deals with RGNUL but still getting the desired results in favour of placements will take some time.

In our University, students are eligible for campus placements in 5th year of their degree for BA.LLB.(Hons.) and in LLM. they are eligible for placements in the 1st semester itself. Many Law firms visit our university like Khaitan & Co., Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, etc. One students of our university got a 2.5 cr. placement offer from Linklaters Llp. a firm based in U.K. My plans after getting the degree are to start litigation or give a try in UPSC.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good as there are many subjects which are important from the point of view and law like sociology and political science and we also have a new subject UNGP which allows the students to know about UN helping them in public international law and internatinal law understanding. The curriculum might not help everyone in real life but the environment you get there and surviving there surely hell one in real life The recommendation from me to do improvements is in checkinh as many students get few marks initially but after revaluation they increases
