What Students Say
Likes
- The campus life is top-notch. The whole campus is extremely large and gets you a breather. There were 3 affordable canteens during my time hopefully they are still there. The environment has been peaceful and overal the campus was great!
- The teachers have been extremely approachable and always guided us through the smallest inconveniences. They are well versed in their fields and while there might be catnip overall the faculty was and still is helpful.
- I have engaged alot in non-academic co curricular activities and that's the fetch here. They always keep us busy with different activities be it academic or non-academic. So the stress factor was always low while I was there.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course itself is a toned version of any other tech courses so obviously the curriculum would be easier compared to other courses such as CS majors, Btech, etc. But easier doesn't mean it's just anything. However you want to prepare yourself wholesomely depends on the individual. But in respect to other tech fields the curriculum definitely is an easy difficulty level in case of BCA. This course would prepare someone corporate ready with all the services and facilities which come along handy. But, preparing yourself for the higher studies or the technical placements would totally go to you as an individual. If I were to suggest some improvements I would say they should include up-to date techs so we don't have to learn them by ourselves. It would make sure the students are more industry ready by providing them with techs that are on demand in the industry.
Internships Opportunities
The college sent us to a paid internship from their side. The internship revolved around full stack web development. I have learned my part from it but the only dissatisfaction was the "paid" part. We worked as a group of 5 6 people working in a full stack web application. We had to work on it ourselves and we did come across several industrial approaches.
Placement Experience
The campus placements start usually during the 4th or 5th semester or the course. Several companies do take part in the drive. Some which came during my time were mindtree, EY, Deloitte, etc. While I did receive a placement opportunity from Deloitte. Some companies which came and made no offer would include Infosys as far as I remember. They did not conduct any application either. The highest package which was offered to our batch would be 4.2 LPA by EY. Although the "getting placement" sentiment totally depends on the individual and their preparation but about 60% students got placed in our batch. I did not take up my placement offer because I was more interested in higher studies which I am pursuing right now. So one could go for either the placement or higher studies or government exams after the completion of this course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year-wise fee would 114k per year while 57k per semester. There is an additional 10k charged at the beginning which is apparently the caution money and it will be returned to you after the course ends. They usually dedect a sum of miscellaneous from that amount so it's not 10k exactly. The fees might have increased since this year by somewhat 10-15k. I haven't received any particular scholarship because we were never informed about one and when we went with a government one, it did not work out or get aided.
Campus Life
Apart from freshers and farewells for every batch that we have come across, the annual fests or technical fests were a rare thing in this college. Several events did take oart during our time but we never received a proper fest from our college. The library is an excellent plus point to this college. Usually other colleges don't provide you library books semester wise. You are the one who needs to decide which book you need. Here the librarians provide you the teacher selected books and you don't have to go through the hassle of looking and deciding them for yourself. The technical facilities such as our computer laboratories were pretty much good. Not too bad even though there were difficulties people faced. The college was extremely active sports wise. We had several sports events quite often and it included a wide spectrum of different types of sports. The campus already has different areas for different sports which we can take advantage of however we want.
Admission
I had applied to several colleges after my 12th but I specifically chose The Heritage Academy because... It was super near to my home The campus was large and better than most other colleges. Their involvement in co curriculum activities is excellent and it gives a breather from all the studies. The rumoured placement process was obviously great. I received my placement too successfully. I also applied to Techno and received my admission but I rejected them because of the rumoured placement session not being great and it was also far from my house. The other colleges I did look into were not good with the placements from what I heard so without any 2nd thought I went with THA. The admission process was smooth. They asked me for my marksheets or X and XII and I was eventually admitted based on my merits.
Other Applied Colleges
Techno India University | Bachelor of Computer Applications [BCA]
Placement review weren't good and too far from home!
