What Students Say?
Likes
- The campus is really good. It is having cafeteria, playgrounds, Gym, Library. There are many Clubs and teams in the college which help a student to develop their extra curricular skills, professional skills and will boost their chance of placement.
- Most of the faculties are highly qualified from reputed Universities, some of them are also gold medalist and maximum of them are PhDs. They have good teaching techniques and they also provide you the chapter notes.
Dislikes
- Students especially boys in the hostel may sometimes called by seniors for assignments. And 1st year students have to follow some rules like putting sleeves down, wearing ties, formal shoes, not wearing belts etc like this.
- Though the faculties are well qualified but some of their teaching techniques are really poor, they just focus on completing the syllabus.
Course Curriculum Overview
In this college the core branches like Mechanical, Chemical, Biotechnology, Electrical are really good and have good placement rates. The non-core branches like CSE, AIML, etc also good but the placement rate have reduced. There are many Clubs in the colleges which gives the opportunity to develop some other skills required for real world applications. Like Manab Racing club gives you the opportunity to build a F3 car from scratch and take it to racing tracks. There are many more like this. This this will develop your extra skills besides studies. In a year there are two semesters and between one semester exam 2-3 class tests are given. Though it's good but simultaneously it becomes hectic to complete the syllabus and creates an extra pressure.
Placement Experience
The campus placement starts mainly from 6th semester. The campus placement is good, but this year i.e. 2023-24 the placement rate was around 52% which was 91% in previous year. The mechanical and food technology branches had the maximum placement this session with almost 80%+ placement rate, the non-core branches like CSE, AIML had very low placement rate. The highest package offered this year was 33lpa which was 22lpa previous year. The avg package was 3-4.5 lpa. After my graduation I would try for campus placement.

Campus Life
Two college fest occurs in the college i.e. RIVERA( cultural fest), PRAYUKTI(tech fest) around March and April. Unfortunately it did not took place this year. Besides there also take place Annual Cultural Meet which is a cultural program. Also different sports tournament takes place like cricket, football, basketball, chess, etc. Some of The classrooms are having projectors but they are hardly used. The infrastructure of the classroom and labs could have been more improved.
Admission
Students must appear for WBJEE to get admission. Mostly Admission is done through WBJEE councelling, there is a chance of direct admission(very limited seats) if you are having good marks in 12th and have WBJEE rank card. Management quota is also available. The cut-off depends on the availability of seats.
Faculty
The faculty -to- student ratio is fair. Most the teachers taking practical classes makes a student understand the thing very clearly. The theory classes are sometimes boring due to the teachers' teaching techniques. A student can interact with the teacher whenever they want, infact there is a separate unofficial what's app grp for every subject where the teacher sends notes and study materials.
