Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is changing in our course the higher class courses are coming to lower semester it's good for the 4th year placement practices few subjects will be there so exams pressure will be reduced but in lower semesters many subjects are coming from higher semester so the pressure is increasing from second year
Internships Opportunities
Online and offline both internships are available many paid internships are being done mostly Internships given in my course are by Indian oil , HPL , IOCL , Bengal coal etc Students make projects under faculty members in a very helpful and friendly manner
Placement Experience
College has very well reputation for placement in my course there are many local companies in haldia who recruit from my college like Haldia petrochemical, Bengal energy etc Many students are preparing for GATE exam also
Fees and Financial Aid
It's like for odd semester 68750/- and for even semester 71500/- For tution fees it's 68750/- Swami Vivekananda scholarship is good For tution waver it's free for one semester and 2750/- without hostel
Campus Life
As I said earlier college campus is very big and many seminars proggrams are happening every day there are many social cultural and media clubs are available in the college They organise many type of cultural technical events every week College has two playgrounds one for football and one for cricket basketball ground is also available Every year annual sports cricket, football and basketball (both boys and girls) are organised College Library is big and well organised for every department different book rows are available
Admission
For my course chemical engineering Haldia institute of technology is one of best in haldia My course is provided in very few colleges in west bengal I didn't get the chance to get admission in cu or Jadavpur University due to low wbjee rank but my college is good too for this course Wbjee is the best admission for west bengal students Jee main is also available for other states and Direct admission is also available
Faculty
Faculty is always friendly and helpful They help in every way possible but you have to be engaged with them or you can be miss out Our HOD Dr. Sunil Baran Kulia sir is always helpful to us and also sonali ma'am Barnali ma'am somak sir are good Per semester there are 3 internal exams and semester has 70 marks exam remaining 30 from internal Internal marks are divided into attandance classroom intersection and internal exam
Night Life
College has gym facilities differently for girls and boys Library is closed after 6:30 has a well sized cafeteria open till 9 pm Boys hostel timing is 8:30 pm and girls hostel is 8:00 pm Haldia has many places to visit like city centre, riverside , Durga chak etc
