Unveiling KIIT: A student's perspective

The main moto to opt for biotechnology was to study and do jobs abroad! But as per that the curriculums activity has not trained properly to deal with outer world. The faculties need to learn or how to engage with the students, on how to build interest on their subjects, infrastructure needs to be improved. Exams are held often, sometimes the difficulty level are hard and sometimes moderate

As I'm in intial or not the final step of college life so internship opportunities are not much explored byt the college provide good internship facilities in different branches of biotechnology. Recently i did my internship on microbiology department.

Staring from the 5th year or the ending of 4th year a well deserved students gets it's placement. The companies including Ziffo, Enzene, Nestle, Himalaya and many more has come for placement. They provide 3LPA-6LPA or can increase more in near future. Even though kiit claims 100% placement but less than 50% gets the actual placement depending on the companies vacancies. My plans includes sitting for placement and working to again knowledge.

The year I joined, the package provided for Dual degree biotechnology for 5 years were 25 lakha. In which 3 lakhs was admission fee including the tuition,lab coats, books and for laptop. The tuition fee for each semester are 1,18,000. For the students who appeared after council session provide around 30 lakhs for 5 years

In this criteria KIIT is over the top. KIIT is known for it's events and fest. Recently KIITs 25th inauguration or silver jubilee was phenomenal. Each year kiit provide numerous events for a student to participate, learn and enjoy to the fullest. Many star nights and DJ nights are done to make students enjoy there students life. Each year KIIT organise it's annual fest which is topnotch. Apart from events and fest kiit has excelled it's societies or club life. Every kind of societies are their for the students to explore learn and enjoy and a specific campus or building for societies is also provide for facilities. For sports life kiit is over the top it has international tournaments, students involving in it and a best indoor stadium, outdoor stadium and the cherry on the top is that 14 Kiitans went to Paris Olympics.

Hostel & mess facilities are wost. Unhygienic an small rooms are provided comparing to the money we pay. Fungus have overpowered in every rooms, in time is not flexible. Registration process for Hostel is so high not everyone can afford.

The eligibility criteria includes, The interested student to atleast score 65 percentile in his/her 12th board, the applied subjects that one should have opted in 12th should be pcb or pcmb. The form is available on KIIT's official website. Each year KIIT provide Kiitee exam for admission. The reservation of SC/ST or Physically handicapped is available.

Faculties are well trained and qualified. Most of them are qualified and did their jobs and learning experience from abroad, but according to their quantification teachings are not upto the mark. Regardless the faculties are always open to provide to hand to their beloved students. As per the faulty to student ratio, each Faculties are provide with minimum 5 to 20 students to look after them and solve their problems.
