BPC Institute of Technology - One of the best polytechnic colleges in West Bengal

The courses one can study in this college are electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and computer science and technology. A diploma is necessary in order for someone to do a BTech in case they cannot give exams like JEE due to not having a science or science without maths background. The way the things that in this college are very relevant and comprehensive to today's requirements. After completing the course from this college, one may go for lateral entry exams to get into a BTech program or apply for government job or just get any jobs in general, due to having a diploma from a very renowned Government College.

The college offers internships to interested students around the last semester. Otherwise, the college focuses on placements and campusing after one has finished their final year of college. The college has high placement rates at very good salary packages.

80% students got placement from our college in Electrical department. The highest salary 20k, the lowest salary 10000 in and the average salary 15000 is offered in electrical department. But in CST department 8.5 Lacs per annum salary is offered. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, L&T etc. Almost 95% student got internship in this course. Roles are like AutoCAD etc. It based on sales and products. If someone is not going for placements, one may apply for government exams such as RRB, SSC or go for a lateral entry exam into BTech program in other government colleges.

In the first year of the college, they will charge 800 rupees for both admission and tuition fees. There is no need to pay extra every month. Since this is a Government College, the tuition fees are extremely less and affordable. Those who with tfw or tuition fee waiver can take advantage of it and get even less fees to be paid to the college. The most popular scholarship that people opt for is known as the SVMCM scholarship or Swami Vivekananda merir-cum-means scholarship. The information about the scholarship is available on the website, and it assumes that you have an annual family income of less than 5 lakhs. Other scholarship like the TSDPL silver jubilee program offered by TATA Steel. There are also other scholarships that one may take advantage of for studying in the college if they belong from a less privileged background.

The college holds a freshers' fest every year around December. Other than that, induction programs are held after 5 to 6 days of the first year college students entry. The library is filled to the brim with books that one may issue at the discretion. The classrooms are large and very spacious, the students of engineering like electrical, mechanical and civil have desks instead of benches to aid them during the engineering graphics class. There are several playgrounds around the college where one may play football, cricket, etc. There is a student council which consists of seniors in the student council group and they take care of the college.

In order to get into this college, one has to fill the form of JEXPO or JEXPO VOCLET. This exam is no longer being conducted in written format, instead marks are being taken for class 10th or class 12th, based on whatever yearyou want to get into. The application form is available on the board website WBSCTVESD, where one has to fill the form enter their details and wait for allotment. If someone has a reservation such as SC, ST or a someone is a female candidate, they can pay less during the form fill up process. Other than that, there are also tuition fee waiver and land looser quotas, that one may take advantage of if they belong from a less privileged background.

Most if not all faculty members have done their masters or have done their PHDs. The faculty is highly experienced and well-versed in their teaching. Their explanations are very clear and they explain in two different language mediums, English and Bengali. They are very fun to talk to and they teach really well which is a really good thing in a college teacher. They provide notes through WhatsApp in case someone cannot afford the books. Experiments are conducted regularly in the lab classes and we are taught well on how to perform well in the exams - internal or semester exam. Tyhe professor are really cool and are probably some of the best teachers I have ever met.
