Best start for a professional life

I was referred by one of my neighbor whose brother is already in Elite polytechnic institution. So admission process is not that lengthy for me...i just go to admission cell with my father & pay the amount which is required for registration & in return they provide me the receipt which will i've to provide during my classes...actually i avail management quota...for which i have to pay little higher amount than others who comes from jexpo...i didn't remember how much i had paid...they gave me the fee structure along with that money receipt where it's mentioned about 6 semester's fee along with hostel fees if anyone avail hostel than. The criteria for admission is marks greater than 50% in physical science, math & english. And i've 75% marks in 10th so there's no problem regarding criteria for me at least. During admission they describe me about their stream availability & seat availability, & trying to convince me to chose alternative stream rather than civil engineering but i chose CE.

I choose civil engineering rethar than other stream coz at that period (in 2011) civil engineering branch is in high demand in market & it's called one of the mother stream of engineering. And ofcourse there's lots of job opportunity after completion at government & as well as in private firms. Which trend is stopped at this moment in 2021. Rather than this other reason to choose civil engineering is my dream to development of my state which is tripura. Thus i preferred Civil Engineering. In my class there's 75 students among them 12 from vocational admission who directly admitted in 2nd year. Students teacher ratio might be 8:1. Faculties of my branch are avarage i'll say...some of them are highly qualified such as Mtech holder & some are btech pass out. Some of them are really so supporting that we still connected with them. 2 terms are taken in an individual semester & questions are moderate type, if someone attend class regularly & focus on class than he/she can manage to pass easily.

We didn't get any paid internship during our days. We just did vocational training under various organization inducted by our college. By those training we learned many things about work culture & other things related to our individual field. Personally i did a vocational training under pwd on pilling at fourth semester. About projects every individual had to submit their project at sixth semester, without project submission you're unable to pass the degree. My project was on Mix design of concrete.

From fifth semester semester students became eligible for campus drive recruitment. And college also started campus drive. As i earlier mentioned that campus drive are not that much satisfying at all during 2012-2014. I was passed out at 2014 & in my time there's only one company came for civil engineering branch except that all are IT companies. For electronics & telecommunication and Computer science student there's lots of scope at that period. Some of them got package of 3.6 lakh per annum which may be the highest package as far as i know during my days. In an average we get 2 lakh per annum package. I just set one campus drive recruitment of Printika pvt. Ltd. which recruited almost 15 civil engineer from our branch. They offered 2 lakh per annum package to all. As a percentage of placed student from my branch is almost 20%. Overall from 2014 batch it'll be 30-50%. Unfortunately i didn't placed from that placement drive as I'm planning for higher study.

As far as i remember my semester fees are 27500/semester except hostel fees. Actually fee structure is different for different quota. Which are from jexpo & poly40 they had semester fees around 19500/semester. But hostel fees are same for all. Which is 36000/year. But we can pay quarterly such as i paid hostel fees 18000 for six months. In my 3 year course there's no change of fee structure at all but after that i heard from my junior they hiked little amount in semester fees as well as hostel fees too. As it's a private college they obviously will charge for study but i think for a professional course this is not that high...so i'll say at our time it is affordable to manage that much cost for a professional course, i don't know what was the cost of recent. There's scholarship for SC/ST students. They also provide railway concession for local students who applied for that purpose. Every year they try to arrange campus drive but not satisfying at all. Actually they invite IT companies.

My best life span spend on elite days. One of the reason is "EPIPHENY". EPIPHENY is our fest name which we organized every year during february month. It's a two days program arranged by us with the help of our college faculty & management. 1st day is dedicated towards cultural events & 2nd day is for bend, dj, fashion show etc etc. We invite parents as well as our alumni. Rethar than this we arrange tech fest also. Where our tech genius made various model & show their skill & demonstrate their model. We invite local MLA to that event. They also encourage our tech geniees...and lastly we arrange inter college cricket & football tournament to boost up our physical activity. And for girls we arrange badminton tournament. There's a library which is packed with lots of books. And they provide us a library card to issue any book which required for study. Lastly i should mention the penalty system of library too, if anyone didn't reissue in a interval of 15 days he/she have to pay penalty

I availed hostel from beginning of my course till last so I'm sharing my experience. Hostel is not at all good for accommodation. They make a hall type hostel which is coved by plywood made walls. In a small room there's 3 bad which make life clumsy. Although my hostel life is memorable like others for my friends & juniors. I still remember my days at elite hostel. Meal is also very poor & unhygienic. Sometimes we used to cook our meal by ourself as meal quality is poor as like other hostels. Variety of meal is there as per mess routine. As a manu we get 2 days fish, 2 days egg, 1 day meat & 2 days vegetable. Occutionally we get biryani also. Registration process of hostel is also simple as like as admission process, they provide you a money receipt which you have to provide to hostel caretaker & he will show you your room. The hostel is in a market which called bandel more, famous in that locality. As hostel is near a market we did face any trouble regarding marketing, atm issues.
