Course Curriculum Overview

3

The computer science and engineering department is a tough nut to crack. The classes consist of mechanics of electrical components and in-depth details of electrical and mechanical engineering with maths and focus on communication skills. Next comes the detailed structure of microprocessors and working of algorithms. The theoretical part of curriculum is vastly covered in the classes

Internships Opportunities

During our time at the college, we did not have paid internships. But we completed our summer internship attending java and c++ classes

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements is the best-selling point of this college. The campus placement invites top names in the industry to give full exposure to the students. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro and Accenture are just the tip of the pot. The college boasts of 98% placement record.

College Events

4

The college celebrates various events in the campus. Ranging from sports competitions like cricket, volleyball and basketball matches to technical and non-technical competitions and various cultural activities. The college roughly holds 2 to 3 events each calendar month open to other colleges as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

With the growing demand of the education industry, the cost of education is rising at a very steep pace. The college gives out scholarships for deserving candidates too. The fee structure is not very expensive but definitely is on a bit pricier side. With all the facilities and infrastructure provided by the college, these things feel justified.

Fees and Financial Aid

During our time at the college, there were not much opportunities for scholarships. The college had tie ups with some of the banks which provided student and education loans.

Campus Life

4

The campus was beautiful and very well maintained. The college was home to all diverse cultures and people. The male female ratio was almost equal in most of the classrooms, other than mechanical engineering, obviously.. The college conducted various technical and non technical competitions and fests with students from dozens of other universities and colleges coming to participate.

Hostel Facilities

3

We never stayed in the college hostel inside the campus as we were day scholars. But as heard from the students living there the hostel rooms were small and packed up. Since the college was in the process of building other new buildings for individual boys and girls hostel, our juniors got nicer accommodations than us.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of chitkara Institute is very active and people are very helpful. The alumni hold various reunions for passed out batches in various states all over the country.

Exam Structure

Students have to go through weekly exam schedule to keep them up to date and fully prepared for exam season. In the last days approaching the final exam season, the faculty helps weak students with extra classes going over all the important subjects again

Admission

I gave the entrance exam and was shortlisted for the application process. I was invited for interview process. The interview was taken by 2 faculty members which lasted about 30 minutes. Afterward, we had a group discussion on a couple of social issues. I cleared both of the rounds and was selected for admission into CSE.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of chitkara Institute is highly-qualified and trained in their respective departments. May it be maths, chemistry or microprocessors. The subjects are covered with full attention to detail given to all aspects of the chapters. Complete tests were given each week to check the performance of the students.

Average is 6LPA. for all branches highest was 42LPA with average 12 LPA. placement % is 60-80 among all branches which is improving every year. I am planning for higher education.

Reviewed on Jun 10, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was interested in Robotics and my parents wanted me to take a core branch. The curriculum is not very relevant but some topics are good and related like modern welding technologies and manufacturing techniques. I think our college curriculum needs to be updated where more new world technologies like AR and VRs should be taught with advance robotics. Teaching methods used are classical I think professors should try to use smart classrooms to visualise the concept to make it better understandable. Exams are moderate level but I think our college needs to reduce exam frequency although we have time but due to exams nearly every month it doesn't feel good.
