Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is made to benefit the students. Stress is relayed on theoretical aspects and the subject matter, rather than technocrat-ish superficial learning. One can get a good grasp on the subject by the time they complete their graduation, and hence, can adapt to any form of work in their career.

Placement Experience

3.5

Almost 70-80 % of the students get placed in msc statistics, and the average package is around 7-8LPA. There are many private banks, consultancies and other private firms who visit for placements. One can also opt for research after completion of the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is extremely low and affordable, for bsc stats, it's 2000 per semester(approx.). Even the hostel fees is quite low, while the hostel facilities are excellent. There are many scholarships available, based on 10+2 result, semester result, family income, caste reservations etc.

Campus Life

4

There are two main fests, ISPAT and ICON, the more popular being ISPAT. There is also TPLF(The Presidency Literature Fest), there are departmental freshers, teachers' day celebrations, farewell programmes, etc etc. There are annual sports tournaments as well.

Admission

One needs to pass the 10+2 examination from any recognised board. The application form, and other details are made available on the website itself. There is an entrance examination PUBDET, the eligibility criteria for bsc stats is 80% agg. (overall), and 70% in maths/stats at 10+2 level. The syllabus is same as the syllabus for maths in 11 and 12.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty members are extremely cooperative. They are highly educated. The teacher to student ratio on an average throughout all departments is 1:25. One can interact with the professors anytime during the college hours and we are even allowed to text or call them should the need arise. Overall, if the number of faculty members is increased a little bit, then the academics would easily get a 10/10 score.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.
