Course Curriculum Overview

4

I like computer science since my school days. And Ananda Chandra College is offering the best in my locality. That's why I deside to choose this course Everything is perfect in our course but our principal have to take care of our labs. We does not have enough specified systems and does not have enough kit for digital labs like (digital electronics, computer system architecture, microprocessor)

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a student of last cbsc(choice based grade system) batch. So my fees structure can be different from yours. I needed to pay about 7856/- while admission. 1030/- for semister fee(each) 650/- for each supplementary paper(if any) 2nd/4th/6th sem fees about 4500/- 3rd/5th sem fees about 5600/- All kind of fees are included in those fees above. And if you persue hostel 1500/- per sem (not sure) And for foods in hostel 3500/- per month (not sure) We get all kind of scholarships offered by WB govt. And our college does not provide any special kind of scholarship. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 18000/- (bsc honours student) 16000/- (ba honours student) 12000/- (pass course)

Campus Life

3

Out college manage two big fests. One is freshers and onother one is anual fest. Freshers typically helds in middle of the year And anual fest helds in January You can find almost every books you need. But you have to sownload some books from outsource Here's a website for diwnloading books: libgen.is

Hostel Facilities

3

Not any special facilities available in hostels. Meal is good and clean. Menu 3 days - Veg 3 days - Non veg (egg, fish, chicken) You have to take an admission form for hostel and then fill it amd submit to your hostel incharge

Admission

I applied in asutosh college, kolkata. And I choose Anda Chandra College because my marks in HS is not up to the mark that I could get a chance in asutosh college, kolkata. And I rejected siliguri college because I have to tarvel upto 60km daily Out college does not have any specific entrance exam. You have to score good enough in HS. And then apply for Ananda Chandra College. If you want to persue compute science course in Ananda Chandra College you have to score about 80%+ in HS.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio :- 1:5 And every students and teacher behave very well to each others. You can approach faculty any time you need them, they are open to help. Faculty: Dr. Indrajit Ghosh (H. O. D) Suranjay Goswami Kanishka Sarkar Debangshu Chakraborty Arpita Das Everyone of them is very helpful. We have to attend one internal exam / subject each semister. About above 50% students are fail to clear the GE paper at first attempt but there are 98% students wo pass Honours paper

Night Life

4

No gym, but have cafeterias aroud our college, and you can get any public areas to hangout with friends. My personal favorite hang out olace is bombay cutting chai. We go there during college breaks and at evening. Doesn't know exact hostel timing because I live in my house

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world. To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.
