- There is no direct railway station or airport
- Hostels needs to be upgraded and maintenance required properly.
- As vehicles are not allowed for students, we have to walk a lot.
Course Curriculum Overview
Cirriculum is based on NEP 2020. In first year each student will taught same courses and branch upgrade is also done after first year based on CGPA. We are introduced to various real life problems and how to solve them in more efficient way. There are some course which helps us to prepare for our interview . But there might be a scope of improvement means to upgrade syllabus and introduce new topics. Exams are held twice in a semester with a difficulty level of medium
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Andromeda, JIO etc. provided internship. But all these intership are out of campus internship. Students are mainly get intership for a role of Developer and selection is done through coding and interview rounds.
Placement Experience
The college provides a quite decent placement. This year highest package was 2 Cr and previous year highest package was 1.73 Cr . More than 40 companies visited.Top recruiters were Samsung ,CRED, Syska,Croma,Oracle , Accenture etc. More than 80 percent students get placed and after my degree I am also thinking of getting placed .
Fees and Financial Aid
Per semester tution fees is approx 625000 and also some other expenses are involved. But there is also fee waiver based on income as well as category based. There are also many scholarship available like Swami Vivekanand Scholarship, Scholarship based on 10+2 result etc. Complete cost of education is around 11-12 Lakh for a student having no fees wavier.
Campus Life
Overall campus life is good. There are two fest one is Hillafair which is cultural fest and another is Nimbus which is technical fest and another one is Lalkaar which is annual sports fest. Hillafair occurrs during October , Nimbus during March and Lalkaar during February month. There is also online as well as offline library services which student can access books and journals.Classroms are also well equipped and each classroom has AC. There are also various cultural as well as technical clubs along with society like ISTE , Robotics,GDSC etc.
Hostel Facilities
There is separate hostel for each year of students. Hosels are upgraded every year. Hostel fees is approx 65000 per year. Students are provided with 3 seater and 4 seater rooms during first three years of degree and single rooms during last year. Hostel meal is also good and mess menu also decided by students. Hostels and rooms are alloted during offline reporting
Admission
Admission is done by JEE mains , GATE, IIT JAM for B.Tech,.MTech and Master in graduation course. Difficulty level JER Mains is not quite dificult not very easy but a more bit than medium. JEE mains is held twice a year.
Faculty
Faculty at NIT Hamirpur is quite good as well as well experienced. Faculty to student ratio is also good . The faculty is quite helpful and available anytime. Interaction with teachers are quite good , and teachers are also very friendly.
