- Dav college is considered as second best college for commerce after sd college and these colleges are associated with panjab university. One of the best thing here is crowd, people of different culture merging here and creating such a vibrant crowd.
- No attendance problem, no requirement of minimum 75% attendance, just have to pay the fine which will be around 1000
- We have 3 canteen on campus with different vibe. Nescafe is where u could enjoy one of the best cheesy maggie with your friends.
Dislikes
- Poltics here is given more importance than study, which should not be acceptable at all
- Library is not up to date, books here are very old and hence are not usable, books through which one can study can't be issued as they are in limited quantity.
Course Curriculum Overview
Bcom is one prominent course for an commerce student which provides a wide range of fields. There don't teach you how one can use the theory knowledge in pratical application , so they don't prepare you for real world , one itself have to work on them if want to get succeed, teachers may help you if you're ask for help. We have mid semester exams where half syllabus is given to prepare , it is kind of like a test. Whereas we do have semester exams with moderate level of question, one can easily pass even after they study one day before their exams but have to strategically plan about what to study and what to not.
Fees and Financial Aid
We have around 28000 yearly fee, which for 3 year will cost around 84000 , then examinations fees for every semester of around 3000 which will cost 18000 so total fees of three year will cost you around 1,00,000 and fine for attendance will depend upon person to person. We do have a scholarship for those whose father annual income is less than 2,00,000 and is good in academics. No internship is provided, so better to have no expectations.
Campus Life
Our campus is very vibrant and energetic, one or another activities are happening inside the campus which consists of unique crowd from Himachal, punjab, haryana and manymore. We have our own college fest named karvaan which always held in march. We have lots of clubs and societies in our college where one can enroll themselves and get a chance to interact with different course students, which helps them to get more social, upskill themselves and teach them about team work.
Admission
Getting bcom course in this college is quite tough for students outside the UT poll as those students who did their schooling from Chandigarh are given preference as they comes under UT poll. One has to apply by registering themselves to dhe website than college website as this course comes under centralised course so they will be assigned colleges according to cutoff and students prioritising list. Application form will be on dhe website and will cost around 100 after they got assigned to their respective college, then again one has to fill the application form for their assigned college as in dav , filling dav college application form will cost you 850. We do have reservations for sc, st, obc, ews, defence personnel, single girl child, pwd and etc
Faculty
See, it's totally depends on one's luck that which teachers are assigned to them, few teachers are very understanding and will help you alot where few will never leave a chance to belittle you. In terms of teaching skills, Each one of them knowns their work at the best and is the best in their subjects. But some of them are very non serious that they will come only once or twice in the whole semester but will provide with important questions which might be there in your exams.
