One realises there are many things to learn in life other than Education.

Remarks

A lot of politics. Lots and lots of politics right from the management to the student level in fact you can't even participate in student elections due to Malayalis its only that a particular state fellow will get a seat like, Bihar guys for sports, Andhr

Entrance Preview

During our time we needed to write AIEEE exam for getting a seat in NIT's but presently one must write IIT exam i had a rank of around 10,000 which was enough to fetch a seat in an NIT i always had a dream of spending some time in Kerala and this opportunity helped me to fulfil my dream i simply enjoyed the climate over there.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Its one of the best curriculum for gaining knowledge 2/3 labs a week and each lab stretching for 3 hours classes on subjects would be 25 hours per week we can select electives from any branch we need like a EEE guy can take elective from CSE/Mechanical etc make sure you need to justify the reason to your faculty advisor.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are very rare if you are very much interested and you have any contacts then you can get a letter from training and placement department and apply for company. They would give around 15000 per month there is no compulsion that one needs to do internship.

Placement Experience

2.5

There is a nice way to say about our college placements if your seniors placements are good then you can decide your placements wont be that good placement head we had is one of the worst guys he would reject a company which came to our college just because of his ego problems the company he rejected was Ernst and Young which was named best company for working for that year.

College Events

1.5

Technical event tathva it's not big enough to admire our tech fest there would be some robotics workshop, musical nites, and competitions this will be similar to local colleges only cultural fest ragam this is something that can be discussed it has good competions like dance and nice participation all around it is one of the best cultural fests in south India competiting in NFS/CS wtc makes you realise your position too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is a little expensive for me it used to be 38000 per year towards admission fee to my juniors it crossed 1 lakh funnily for my seniors it was 19000 per year right now it would be near to 1/1.2 L per annum towards admission fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not to my knowledge for a non keralaite if you are from Kerala or if you belong to SC/ST you will get scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was great, peaceful we had big grounds, auditorium for shettle and Table tennis common room for TV, carroms etc for every hostel we had good cultural fests and celebrities used to come for musical nites like shankar mahadevan, sunidhi chauhan, AR Rehman group etc but technical fests were not that great.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Most of the hostels are good and we had a range of messes (around 6 messes) to opt for food we had good canteens too even if that wasnt good we still had good restaurants just outside our college there are a plenty of rooms available so there is no need t

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are the best teachers at some cases to know about a lecturer or to select which electives to be taken even for placements you will need the help of seniors very much. I never got any help from any alumni.

Exam Structure

Schedules exams are fine to deal with it happens on one day we need to write two exams that would make the case a little hectic one needs to use the time carefully. Discussion with friends will help a lot.

Faculty

3

Some are the best and some are the worst funny thing to say is the books written by our college lectureers are not recommended in our curriculum but its recommended in IIT madras curriculum many lecturers have ego problems and there was a case in 2013 whe

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
