Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

There are classes separately for self development and there also some lessons to be learnt during the classes too. They need to renovate their classrooms and provide more facilities for students. There are only limited number of smart boards wherease there should be more number of class rooms and seminar halls.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college provides us with interenship opportuinites and even helps us to deal with other companies and sort our difficulties. There are companies like dev town, Wayspire, Acmegrade etc. which are providing enternship to our college students.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students from 7th semester are eligible for placements. There are many companies like hiremi, Tech Mahindra, TCS and many more which visit our college campus for picking up students. In the last placement drive our college has offered placement of 10+ lpa to more than 5 studnents. Mostly all of the students are getting placed in our college, some get less packages and some get more. I'm planning to get a salary of about 7-10 lpa whether in campus or off campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships provided by the college to students who meet their criteria and the fee structure compared to others is quite good. There are price hikes in hostel charges relative to market inflation. The college fees as compared to other colleges is very low and affordable.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is very good as there are DJ nights arranges twice or thrice in a month . There are fests held thrice or even more ina year. There are many events in the college on various occasions and festivals. There are separate classrooms for CS and Smart Classrooms. There are seminar-halls and gardens too. There are courts for specic sports and spr=orts competitions are also being held in the college. There is sphurita club run by students which also organises various programs within the college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are generally 2 or 4 occupancy rooms in the hostel which are quite spacious and airy. The food quality is also good but on some days it is the worst. The menu is quite good and nice. The registeration is an easy process and does't require to be done separately the college itself provides hostel accomodations . The rooms need to be renovated a bit and the network is quite bad there.

Admission

The admission process is very easy and even direct admissions are given to students. You can contact me in case of admissions. Or directly contact on the number given in the college link. The website www.gec.edu.in will help you in admissions. Exams are being conducted at an ok pace and the difficulty level is also maintained.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty members are well-educated. Though some of them are rude but if talking about overall experience they provide a good learning experience and maintain the student to faculty bond . Some teachers are very good and friendly wherease talking about the leaning experience one can learn a lot of skills from the teachers and even during the practical and classroom sessions.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
