Likes
- Academics at IIIT Nagpur are excellent.Various courses are available such as Computer Science Engineering with multiple Specializations such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning,Data Science and Human Computer Interaction.
- College organises two fest mainly named as Tantrafesta and Abhivyakti during October and February.These fests help students gain practical knowledge and Students are given an opportunity to showcase their business ideas and implement them.
- Classrooms are neat and clean and good infrastructure is provided by the Institute.Air conditioners work so fluently and overall environment of classes is peaceful and pleasant.
Dislikes
- College has just 1 Hostel and New comers are not provided hostel facilities.Food of Hostel is of very avg quality.
- College has just limited number of academic blocks and with growing number of students infrastructure is not able to handle all the crowd .
- Location of college is very poor.It is located around 20 KM from the main Nagpur city and transport system is not up to the mark.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen Computer Science Engineering with Human Computer Interaction and Gaming Technology course.My course provides me brief knowledge of Software Engineering as well as Game development.Regular labs are conducted to teach students practical knowledge.Exams are conducted 3 times per semester on regular intervals.College can provide more detailed and practical knowledge to students by various activities which they lack.Various theorical courses are taught which are meaningless.
Internships Opportunities
Every year 50-70 companies visit for providing internships to students and around 80 percent of eligible students get intership with an avg stifend of 20K per month. Companies such as Goldman Sachs,TCS, Infosys and other good companies visit campus regularly. Students showcase their projects and get good interships based on their coding skills,soft skills and Web development skills and get intership amounts as per that.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are generally avg to good with around 80 percent students from batch are eligible for placements and around 50 percent of eligible students get placed with an package of over 13-14 lakhs.Students are eligible for placements after 5th semester.Around 80-90 percent of eligible candidates get placed every year.I am planning to get a good Placement in the final year of engineering through campus placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
College charges high fee per semester which is around 1.2 lakh per semester. College itself does not provide any scholarship.Various State government and Central scholarships are available which differ in amount by state policy.I belong to General category and does not get any scholarships. Categories such as SC And ST get scholarships easily.College does not provide any such job roles or responsibilities of stifends.
Campus Life
Campus Life is average as Campus is under-construction and Sports facilities are extremely poor. Campus is located 20 km away from main city and transport system is too poor. College has various clubs which conduct hackathons and other activities and winners get prizes when they win.College has mainly Dance and Music club which conduct regular activities.
Admission
JEE Mains score and rank is required to get into the college through Josaa counseling.Reserved categories get seats at lower ranks.JEE is considered to be toughest exams in India and are required to be qualified to enter in the college.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is quite good and teachers are so helpful and supportive.But somehow various subjects are allocated to same faculty which makes it difficult for faculty as well as students to effectively learn the concepts. Faculty conducts regular classes and overall mentioned syllabus is covered on time and sufficient notes are provided in from of PDFs. Student Teacher interaction is good and they help in clearing doubts anytime students ask. Most of the teacher's are PHD holder's from various good National Institute's.Some teachers are even pursing their PHD form College itself.
