Course Curriculum Overview

The courses are ofcourse relevant in future terms. But since its a college affiliated to A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University Kerala, they have the limitation in their syllabus. But things are improving now. And syllabus are getting stronger now.

Placement Experience

Huge offers are getting for students. It might change with respect to branches. In ECE, many core companies are offering students good packages. Future studies options are also there. Many students are qualifying GATE and CAT exams

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very cheap with respect to any other colleges in kerala. This is a government college having the definite fee structure of 9000 per semsters. And redemption for various categories.and provides many national scholarships in addition to private and college sponsored scholarships

Campus Life

Campus is a good one spreading over 125 acres. They are green with big trees and are beautiful. Many clubs are also there promoting actual engeneering requisites. Mens hostel and ladies hostel is also there.

Hostel Facilities

There are hostels for mens as well as ladies there. Good hostels with clean and vibrant mess and surroundings. They are completly ragging free and healthy. Many private hostels are there with resonable fee structure. From my personal experience donot go to MEHNAS hostel there.

Hostel Fee: INR 35000 per year

Admission

Admission is given by the office of entrance commissioner Kerala. It is based on the Kerala state engeneering entrance exam KEAM. Admission procedures are smooth. The entrance exam is computer based.semester begins usually on mid August

Faculty

All the faculties are well qualified. Most of them have IIT masters. They are very much welcoming. Good and supportive staffs. Totally qualitative analysis of each and every students. Not as much strict since its a government college

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

From 6th semester onwards students are eligible for internship and placement opportunities. Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

The length of course curriculum is very short. It is very difficult for both students and teachers to complete the syllabus in limited time period.The exam timing are also very conjusted and students are facing many difficulties because of it .

IIST - A good campus to live but with high restrictions.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is there in the campus.A lot of companies visit to the campus. From this year more private companies are visiting because of the breaking of bond with ISRO due to which students are getting good package.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Life at CET

This college is the best government college in Kerala. It has been consistently first in KIRF ranking. It has very cheap fees. The campus is very beautiful and spacious (about 200 acres). My best choice of colleges very IITs and NITs like most people. I couldn't crack JEE. I only applied to this college because I had very high ranking in KEAM exam and was confident of acceptance. KEAM exam is a lot easier to crack than JEE. It has basic higher secondary school syllabus. To get my course you would have to be around 700th rank. To get other courses in my college you can have rank as low as 20k....Read More

Good the questions are well organised and quality of questions were good
