Course Curriculum Overview

4

I've been enthusiastic about exploring more about software and programming which influenced me to choose the course of Computer Science Engineering. With further development of artificial intelligence, it opens up better learning and job opportunities for students. In my university, computer science is taught by experienced teachers and faculty but it would be better if they were more inclusive of certain topics which are extremely important for the students and raising the level of teaching including practical learning and understanding and also examining the student's capability is one of the aspects to be included.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The University provides students with the opportunity of paid internships and also online free IBM internship course. It is quite helpful for understanding topics and also extra learning. Helps prepare better for placement and examinations.

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester wise course fees is 55,000 per semester and that of hostel is 38,000 per semester for a four seater room in which I am staying. Merit based scholarships are provided during admission considering the boards percentage and in order to continue it one has to have a good SGPA and attendance.

Campus Life

3.5

It's a bittersweet experience in the University which is so much far away from home. From meeting new people and making new friends we have created wholesome memories in just a year or less. Cultural and sports programs are held every year for different branches, cultural fest karyonix being the craze of every student coming in the University. Different groups activities such as NCC, NSS, etc. enhances qualities of students other than their academic aspects. For CSE students the GDSC group of students for learning new technologies and aspects.

Hostel Facilities

3

I live in a 4seater hostel room. I pay a fees of 38,000 per semester for the room including bathroom and food. The meal consists of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. The quality of food is average and hygiene is also average but cleanliness is quite good. The hostel registration is done during the admission itself during form filling.

Admission

Since it is a private university, admissions are taken directly and merit-based scholarships are provided considering the 12th board examination percentage. Certain scholarship examinations are also held during admission at a specific time for students who cleared the exam to be provided with scholarships. Application forms can be found on the official website of Kaziranga University which is usually open after the board exam results are out.

Faculty

4

There are quite good and experienced faculty. Interaction between students and faculty is good. We can also clear out doubts regarding any topic over text or by arranging extra classes. Faculties are approachable and quite helpful and guide and mentor us to prepare better for future opportunities.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
