Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum they will show you before admission is completely different what you will be getting. They will be covering things but not with a higher level. In a subject easy topics will be covered but when teacher find any topic difficult , it will not come in exam since everyone has to pass the exam. They can just follow the GATE exam curruculum and that would be enough for any students to outperform after engineering with real time lap teaching. There is semister exam only where you will have to give workshop and lab exam along with theory paper

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship - IOCL DIGBOI with no stipend Internship - ISBT jorhat with no stipend I did project there and learned real time engineering and had to done one- one month training and project . one was for thermal power plant and another was for Internal combustion engine

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid yearly 150000 as tution fee and scholarship is given as per CEE entrance or JEE entrance exam marks and there was one time registration fee of 30,000 for resgistration and for hostel it will be 10,000 registration fee and for 3 seater room you need to pay 75,000 hostel fee where rooms are clearn and good to stay. there is no category benefits in the college

Campus Life

4

Yes only one annul festival happen in college but apart from that there were other occassion like BIHU celebrated in college. they provide free books from librabry that is by good auther in your domain. classroom is good with modern air conditing and proper set up. exposure for extra currucular activities are there like football ground, cricket ground or tennis or GYM . everything is availbale in the campus only. No students group or club can be formed since it is private college

Admission

I did not apply for any other college since I did not get good mark and rank in JEE or CEE exam so I had to go there to take direct admission in my college. The admission process was good, students above 60% in 12th can only eligible to take top engineering brances and below 60% is for lower IT branches. most prefered was mechanical at my time but now it might be computer science or electronics

Faculty

4

The faculties were good but they have to make easy paper for the exam since not all toppers are sitting in the class. The students study there are from good families and they do not want job after engineering so study part is less in students and to pass everyone , teacher also has to make easy paper sometimes to everyone can pass on the paper. In mechanical , Jamal sir, Mukut sir they are very nice and they help with all their knowledge and help you to grow. Mostly faculty and their behaviour is good in college but every concept is not covered so if you go for competitive exam after engineering this will be tuff for you.

Interview Experience

5

There was no GD , interview but there was a test happen for scholarship. At my time the test was not available but test will be consisting questions from PCM subject or siliar to CEE exam Admission is totally based on your 12th percentage and with PCM .

Night Life

4

Yes, GYM is there and cafeterias , librabry and public area , everything was there till 9 PM. If you wish you can go out of the campus and enjoy Maggi , tea just in the shop outside of KU gate. Hostel is open till 11 PM and campus till 7 PM only cafeteria is hangout place or if you can go to town , jorhat i town is near to college

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart, aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle, ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute. The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.
