Course Curriculum Overview

4

Being a huge finance enthusiast, I opted for Bcom Hons. The curriculum covers aspects from management, accounting, finance, law, math, and almost everything, making you a jack of all trades. It's difficult for you to be able to focus on one field that you are interested in, as you have to study those you don't like. There are practical modules involved which can be helpful in the real world. The exams are conducted twice a year by the university, besides that, DRC conducts a Mid-sem exam every semester. Suggestion: The course should allow us to opt for a subject based on our field of interest to enhance our knowledge in that field alone and master it.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The placement cell works towards providing internships to the students. Several companies like Metvy, Decathlon, WWF, Bajaj Capital, Agile, etc offer internship opportunities. The roles include finance, HR and management, Sales and marketing, content, etc. The highest stipend was only 15,000/-.

Placement Experience

3

Campus placements are given to students who are in their 3rd year. Several companies like KPMG, Zomato, Deloitte, Byju's, Pwc, Bajaj Capital, etc. visit the campus and make several offers. The highest package was 21.5L in 2023 whereas the average was 6.5L. The profiles include data, finance, HR and management, consultancy, education, sales and marketing, etc. 110+ students received offer letters in 2023.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees of DRC as compared to other colleges under DU is almost double. The yearly fees I paid for the 1st year was 36,200/- whereas most DU college fees range from 10K to 22K. Although there are several scholarships available too. Being a 1st year student, I haven't applied to any campus employement yet.

Campus Life

3

1. Manjari (annual college fest) held in February end, and various departmental and society fests held in March and April are full of enthusiasm. 2. The library has a large number of reference books for every department which are easily accessible. 3. The classroom facilities are poor. Very few classes have AC whereas the rest have only fans that can't even work properly. The campus is small and hence it's difficult to find a free room during leisure time and gaps. 4. Sports culture is not very well-developed in DRC, the participation rate is very low. The students are not encouraged to take part in sports. 5. There are registered and unregistered societies in the college. But there are some societies that are not in DRC which include FIC, 180 DC and Enactus. These societies were dissolved few years back and even after a lot of requests, are not allowed to be revived. Also, there is no student portal hence we are not able to check our attendance percentage at all.

Admission

The process of admission is entirely undertaken by Delhi University, hence all colleges of DU have the same application process, which requires one to fill out the CUET application through cuet.samarth.ac, and based on your score you are allocated a college from your preference list. My score in CUET was 750/800, unreserved ( with a combination of English, Business studies, Economics and Accountancy ). The eligibility criteria for BCOM HONS is Eng+ acc/math + 2 domains. The examination was moderate, as there was the process of normalisation in my academic session, my score went from 752 to 750. Although, this concept has been removed since 2024.

Faculty

4

In a given department for a given year, let's say there's a 20:1 student-faculty ratio. Teachers are highly approachable, besides every student is appointed a mentor whom we can approach for all academic and other concerns. The faculty is highly experienced, our department has teachers who have not only completed their PhDs but also hold professional degrees like CFA Charters. Yet, due to lack of internet and other equipment availabilities, the teaching process isn't modernised as it should be, it's mostly books and notes and reading and lecturing instead of projects and activities.

The management was not at all helpful when I faced an inconvenience at the time of entrance examination in the exam hall. They even refused to hear my concerns, and I do not wish to be a part of a college or university who doesn't priorities genuine conce

Course Curriculum Overview:

Subjects like Law, Management, HRM and Economics really influence my choice for this course. The law and economics part was really something that garb my attention as well as excite me the most. It really helped in understanding HR policies in depth which helped me really world a lot. The curriculum should include more practical and technical subjects which will help in the corporate world too. The exam timings were usually 2 to 3 hours max. And the exam also doesn't come too hard to pass.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of Janki Devi Memorial College is quiet relevant and covers the important areas of the subject in a structured way one of the reasons I preferred this course was it is designed according to Delhi University standards and the syllabus is recognise and useful for higher studies the combination of theory papers skill enhancement courses and internal assessment help in building clear understanding of the subject. The curriculum helps in writing resources and critical thinking skills which are useful not only in exams but also for future academic and professional work at the same time, I feel that adding move practical sessions, workshop, or more project based learning with me the course more engaging and closed to Real world applications. Exams are held in the form of internal assessment during semester and final University exam at the end.Exams schedule is manageable and the difficult level is moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course ciriculum for bcom is good and covers major aspects like accounts, business law, management, ethics. It help understand the basic concepts and useful for future studies Ciriculum is relevant but somtimes it feel more theory based rather than a practical aprroach. More practical exposure and skill based subjects can be added There might be some needed improvement in teaching as we learn account's and management it feels boring teacher can make it interesting if theu improve their methods Exam happens every 4 month after the end semester the timing of exam is good my 1st sem happened at the December whole month the difficult was not much high my account paper was difficult as it was more tricky but the difficult was managable

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell within the colleges but numerous are not dynamic and those who are dynamic do not offer great arrangements. As it were Srcc , LSR or St. Stephens offer pleasant placements. Most colleges offer arrangements between 3 - 4 lacs but over said colleges can give you situations with normal 8 lacs. But, I would prescribe you to not go for placements but higher things because it will increment your information and assist you to advance in your work and do it effectively whereas doing work fair after graduation will not allow you to regard merely continuously needed in the corporate world.
