Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was quite indecisive about what to pursue after grade 12th so this course was perfect for me. I have a better idea of what I want to pursue now after completing the course since it gives you an option to explore different fields from economics to psychology. The course is really good if you are interested in research and writing since it is more inclined towards that. However, there are also subjects for math like quantitative skills. It is very nuanced. There are mid-term and end-term exams, can be either in class or take-home depending on the subject, but there are continuous assignments and presentations throughout the course.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it is a private college, the fee is towards a slightly more expensive end. There are all types of facilities available on campus from food court to sports grounds. It is mandatory to opt for hostels so there are additional expenses there, i.e. for the room, laundry, mess food etc. There are various scholarship opportunities too though, especially if you're a bright student.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is amazing, from infrastructure to students. There are numerous clubs and fests constantly going on to keep students engaged and meet all of their interests. Whether it is the dance society or if you love animals and want to join the Animal Welfare Society, there are diverse clubs and various new people to meet. There are also four libraries comprising of academic as well as books for leisure, that can be borrowed by students. Since research is a huge part of the university courses, it also provides access to journals like JSTOR. All types of sporting facilities are also available and the equipment can be rented from the sports department. There is badminton, basketball, football, cricket, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, billiards, etc. with constant competitions going on. If you are an entrepreneur, there are various fests held from time to time where you can showcase your products as well.

Hostel Facilities

4

If you are a student it is mandatory to stay on the campus hostel. There isn't any option for PGs. The hostel fee comprises of mess fee as well so you will be getting four meals a day regularly in the dining halls. There are three floors of dining halls and two food courts, if you get bored of mess food haha. The mess provides various cuisines from Indian to Chinese and there is ice cream served everyday at lunch and dinner. There is laundry available on campus too and the cost is comprised in the hostel fee.

Admission

I took the JSAT exam but you can be exempted from it if you have SAT/LSAT. You need to pay a fee of Rs. 1020. It is a general aptitude test comprising quant, verbal, and logical reasoning. In an online exam comprising 120 MCQs, there is no negative marking and a student needs to secure above 50% to qualify for the next round. After that, you will get a call for an interview if you are selected and the questions asked in that are usually generic and easy to answer. For example, the interviewer asked me about my hobbies. The admission is merit-based.

Faculty

4

The effectiveness really depends on the type of major you opt for. If the major has less students then the faculty-to-student ratio is less, hence, more individual time with professors as well. Other than that for the compulsory courses, there are usually sections so the ratio isn't that big and the teachers respond quickly to any comments or questions.

Interview Experience

4

There was an online aptitude test as discussed earlier, and then there was an interview round. The interview was really casual for me personally, and I was mostly asked non-academic questions like my hobbies and about my life in general especially during Covid. The aptitude test is quite basic especially if you've done well in academics till 12th, it covers common 10th grade math and english concepts. There is no such need to prepare for the interview especially since they don't inform you a specific date and time when they take it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific Aspects That Influenced the Decision For students choosing a professional or certificate course, the curriculum usually becomes the deciding factor based on three key pillars: Job-Oriented Specific Skills: The primary influence is the curriculum's direct focus on market-based, job-ready skills (e.g., Python, Data Science, Digital Marketing tools). Unlike a traditional degree, the appeal is that every module must be immediately applicable to a job. Portfolio Development: Students are heavily influenced by modules that are project-based or require them to build a portfolio (like a website, a code repository, or a marketing plan). The curriculum must be designed to result in tangible work that can be shown to employers. Industry Certification Alignment: If the course prepares students for an external, recognized industry certificate (like CCNA, MCP, or Google/Meta certificates), the curriculum's strict adherence to that certification standard is a major influence. 2. Preparation for Real-World Applications The curriculum of a successful short-term course is designed to excel specifically in preparing students for real-world applications. Curriculum Improvements Mandatory Soft Skills Integration: While technical skills are a focus, the curriculum should mandate dedicated modules on non-technical, yet critical, job skills like: Professional Communication and Email Etiquette Team Collaboration and Project Management (Agile/Scrum basics) Interview Preparation and Mock Interviews Industry Feedback Loop: Establish a more frequent and formal system to update the curriculum based on current industry demands, possibly involving an advisory board of employers or recent alumni.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was influenced because I wanted to study more about how a person makes decisions, form perception and how a person's mind works . The curriculum prepares us for real world as we study about different aspects of psychology. The curriculum can be improved a little by adding a elective course in which we can get a little experience and arranging trips . The exams are not too difficult or too easy , just in perfect depth of the subject.
