Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I always liked the Electrical systems so choose this branch of Engineering. I would say that the curriculum and syllabus is ok for a Electrical Engineering enthusiasts. But we do learn a lot of things that we actually dont need or are outdated like microcontrollers and microprocessors. There are also some long and boring theory subjects which we learn without even understanding why we actually need to learn that or what is the actual use for that. The exams are conducted in regular intervals and have the difficulty adjusted to the university exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

There is no actual internship structure for the college like the placement cell. But the department and the faculties helped in getting an internship and also informed us about different internship opportunities available. As electrical students most of us went to places related to our stream including generating stations, sub stations, large scale factories etc....

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement starts at the 7th semester or at the beginning of the 4th year. Training for the aptitude tests were also given by the college. The placement cell is great and takes great effort for the placements. A lot companies visit the companies including UST Global, Sutherland, Siegwerks, Hitachi...... Most of the eligible students who attended the placements were able to get a placement offer. This year my batch had total of 800+ placement offers. The highest offer being around 35LPA and lowest at around 2LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is given in two parts in a year at the beginning of a semester. The fee will vary according to the branches. In EEE branch we have a department scholarship which will reduce the fee from the standard value. There are also scholarship provided by the college based on the merits and marks obtained in plus two exam and entrance exam score.

Campus Life

4.5

The tech event of the college is called Asthra and is held on the odd semester and the arts fest is called Sargam is held on the even semester. The sports fest and athlete meet is also held along with the Arts fest. The library is large and has a lot of books, a student can have upto 6 books and is lend for 2 weeks and can be extended. The sign in and issue of books is digital and these is a facility to reserve a book through the library portal. The classrooms are spacious and have a projector and chalk boards. There is also a wifi repeater in each class to provide better signal for the free wifi offered in the campus. The sports is great and teams are sent regularly to the university games. There are a lot clubs like nature club. And departments has associations like Electrical Engineering Association which are led by students. NCC and NSS is also present in the college.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is good. There are 4 hostels in the college 2 for boys and two for girls. They are near the campus and can be accessed by foot. The food is ok and has lot of varieties for each days. The registration is easy and quick. The hostel rent is collected semester wise and the food cost is charged on a sharing basis.

Admission

The eligibility is to have atleast 75% mark in physics, chemistry and maths combined in plus two final exam. The admission process is done through online mode. The admission for is also available in the college website. The admission to the management quota is done through the college and the admission officers and friendly and supportive. The government quota or the merit quota is done through the government portal.

Faculty

4.5

The ratio of faculty to students is satisfactory and sufficient. There was not an incident were i felt there was a shortage of faculty. The staffs in laboratories were also sufficient. All the teachers have atlest post-graduate and many of them are having PhDs and most of them are pursing PhDs. The faculty teaches in a traditional way of teaching and its ok to learn. Sometimes the faculty gives us special lectures on various trends and other things happening on the industry. As electrical engineering students we can proudly say that we have seen and learned the electrical installation of our campus. The faculties are friendly and are easy to approach and always supportive of our needs and requirements.

Interview Experience

4

There was a briefing session with the vice principal followed by a campus tour. There was no interview for the admission process though the briefing with the vice principal can be considered as an interview. After that the documents were checked, verifed and collected. The faculty advisor contacted me after few weeks for further programs.

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.
