Remarks

Our college management is very good. I have no remarks on my college.

Entrance Preview

Because I was getting CSE branch in this college and in this college CSE is good. Also, I was for the first time leaving in the hostel and since my brother also studies EEE here(passed out) I opted this college. I gave preference to south nit's only and in which I was able to get CSE here.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum will be there on the college website. The college curriculum is very short. within one month of college starting there will be test1 and then after one month test2. After test2 we will be having a fest for 2-3 days and again within 20 days, there will end exam.

Placement Experience

The placements and Job opportunities for CSE branch are good. Even students from other branches who are good at coding are being placed in software companies. This time all students of CSE got places with average income about 10-12 lakh. Even more, than half of EC and EEE got placed.

College Events

There will be many events that are celebrated in our college. Main events are TATHVA and RAGAM.THATHVA is called the technical fest and RAGAM cultural fest. Here ONAM will be celebrated by Malayalis where all people can join and enjoy. Also Ugadi Ganesh Chaturthi etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of the facilities provided by our college related to loan or scholarship. I get a scholarship based on merit by our state government.

Campus Life

The campus life is very enthusiastic. There will be many ways in which we can explore our skills and find new talents in our selves. There will be no gender bias. Only one issue used to be there in the college about the curfew in Ladies Hostel which was 7 PM before and now it got extended to 9 PM.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are very good and I would rate them 7.5 put on a scale of 10. The mess food is not good since this food is suitable for only Kerala state people and not for people coming from other states. I would rate the hostel food 5 out of a scale of 10.

External Expense: More Than Rs.15000

Alumni/Alumna

I have no much idea about alumni. But I heard that the alumni were helpful to this college in improving Kerala which got damaged due to the floods.

Exam Structure

Among all branches, academics of CSE is tough in this college. The faculty for all the subjects was not that good. Only a few subjects were thought by good faculty. The exam would be tough enough to judge our skills. We would have two tests and a final exam. In between, there will be surprise tests, assignments, quizzes etc.

Admission

I attempted JEE MAINS and I got qualified and my rank was 2667. When I was in search for nit college where I could get CSE and also my brother studies in the same college I opted this college. I gave preference to south nit's Tiruchy, Warangal, Nagpur, Calicut. I was getting EC in Warangal and some branch in Tiruchy. I was getting CSE in Calicut and Nagpur. Among Nagpur and Calicut I choose Calicut.

Faculty

We would go to their cabin if the requirement is urgent or we would contact them through email. The faculty will be very friendly towards the students and we can email them at any time. Also if important we can contact them through mobile or through email.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

I chose this college because of strong reputation , good placements and quality of education. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
