Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose to pursue BTech in Biotechnology because of my deep interest in the field of biology. Although the course work is challenging, I am content with the current examination level and happy with the subjects we are dealing with.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

At NITC, the internship programme offers significant opportunities to students though as a second year we aren't offered much currently. From the sixth semester onwards, students can secure paid internship often amounting to around 80k to 100k For three months. These provide excellent exposures to professional world

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement packages in NITC are lucrative with students become eligible for placement interviews by semester 7.Last year the highest package soared to approximately 80 Lakhs per annum and an average of 7-10 lakhs per annum and many renowned companies like Google, cisco, etc. participated in placement programmes. For my case I'm looking forward for higher education

Fees and Financial Aid

While the institution follows a standard fee structure about 1.25 lakhs per sem and many other one time deposits fees , there have been significant and uncontrollable fees hike over past three years which raises many queries. Also NITC offers a variety of scholarships like EWS, Egrantz and many other minor scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

The institute hosts South India's technical and cultural fest, Tathva which is held by end of October and Ragam which is held by mid March. Beyond academics, NITC offers ample opportunities for students interested in sports with well equipped facilities and trained coaches for various teams including football, hockey, basketball etc. Moreover students can engage in diverse extracurricular activities through home teams featuring dance, mime , fashion and more as well as through participation in various technical and cultural clubs

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities at NITC are commendable offering decent rooms that accommodate a maximum of 2 people. The menu is diverse and affordable with four meals per day costing Rs.136 for girls and Rs.138 for boys catering to both North Indian and south Indian tastes. Overall students are quite content with hostel and food facilities. Also hostel allocations are done through hostel office and hostel app of NITC.

Admission

The admission of NITC us conducted through JOSAA and is primarily based on All India ranks. As a first tier NIT in the country the cutoffs are high and predominantly determined by All India rank. Additionally community ranks are considered which have a high bar.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty at NITC are highly qualified and exceptionally good at their jobs bringing both expertise and dedication to their teaching. They are easily approachable and maintain good relationship with their students. The students faculty ratio is well balanced and ensures each student is prioritized.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
