Remarks

There is nothing bad I can say about my college it is the best college you will ever get.

Entrance Preview

It is very near to me as I live in Chandigarh. It is nearly 14 kilometers from my house and it is one of the best colleges in this area if I have to compare it with others. My first priority was to take admission in IIT but my marks were low so I decided to choose the second best option for me.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum basically covers every detail of a particular stream. The first year is basically to make the base of a student. I was from computers stream so in my first I got to learn about so many new things. Your whole period of college will be your learning phase.

Internships Opportunities

Basically, our college provides opportunities to students to get job and internship. The general stipend of an internship is around 10-12 k.

Placement Experience

5

Getting a large number of placements every year is the plus point of my college. Basically, it attracts students to get admission every year. The placed student rate is increasing year by year. The last year 2500 students were placed and the highest package was 32 lakhs.

College Events

5

There are so many events which are celebrated in my college such as Parivartan (college fest), freshers party, smart India hackathon, cultural programs on various festivals like Lohri, Diwali. Students help to coordinate these events and they also enjoy a lot.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I think fee structure of my college is feasible and nominal as compared to other colleges in that area. Colleges charge higher fees by introducing new or different programs. But in my college, there is no such thing. I think for my college anyone can afford that amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers so many scholarships to the deserving students. Scholarships are offered to those students who achieve good marks.

Campus Life

5

My experience in college was so good. It was a beautiful journey as I am going to graduate this year. I will my college. My college is good in every field. There is nothing to be complained about. Labs are well equipped and cleaned. Sports competitions are organized on regular basis.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are three boys hostel and one girl's hostel. All the hostels are very big in size. They are inside the campus so it will be easy for students every day to attend their classes on time. Food from the mess is of good quality, they have different dishes for the different day.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network and senior students are very helpful. They will guide you at each and every step. They also help in your placements.

Exam Structure

There will be two exams every year or you can say on the exam per semester. In each semester, there will be two MSTs. MSTs are of 24 marks. Basically, these are used for internal marks of students. The final exam is of 60 marks and rest of the 40 marks are your internal marks.

Admission

You can get admission by two ways either by merit or by entrance exams. As I was eligible for both the criteria. You get streams according to the percentage of your 12 class marks or by your jee rank or jee score. There are different types of streams are IT, ME, CSE, ECE.

Faculty

5

Faculty of college is very helpful and very knowledgeable. They know how to deal with students. The main thing which I want to highlight about teachers is that they will help you at each and every step. Not only in your studies otherwise also. HOD of our department was very kind and supportive.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
