Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The BA LLB curriculum's blend of law and arts subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. Specific aspects such as subjects like political science, economics, and sociology alongside core law subjects appealed to me, as they offer a broader context to legal studies. Also, practical things such as moot courts, internships, and legal clinics are integral parts of the curriculum, offering wonderful experience that is valuable for the career. The curriculum should be regularly updated to include pervasive legal issues and emerging areas of law. Secondly, greater emphasis should be placed on interactive and experiential learning methods. Exams are considered to be very hectic as there is few days gap. And semester syllabus doesn't get covered before exams it seems really bad sometimes. This should get improve and more organised.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

One of my professor provide us internship under there known advocates and legal firms. Also all are faculty member update us for government internship programme. As such recruitment doesn't happen for internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is hiking every year but it is same as after the admission my fees is rs. 150000 p.a. now it is 2lac+ for this year enrolled student. When we delay to submit fees there were no late fine now there is late fine of 50rs per day. Scholarship is next to impossible to achieve as the process is very difficult. And financial aid is not for the general student as i also wanted that because of financial crisis but nothing happened.

Campus Life

3

ADR FEST:Held annually in March, this cultural festival features a variety of events including dance, music, drama, and literary competitions, providing a platform for students to showcase their talents. The Hakeem Mohammed Central Library is well-equipped with a vast range of books, journals, and electronic resources. The library has a huge collection of legal texts, law journals, and research papers that are easily accessible to students. Classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards and Projectors. Few are ac classroom few are not. Gym and fitness centers available . ADR BOARD legal aid committee and several more committees are established recently.

Admission

Admission process was easy as I have just filled the form with having 73% in 12th class. In the first list my name was present. On merit basis i got admission. Few of my friend has 56-60% they also got admission. So admission is easy. After that original document they scrutinized. That's all for the admission process. There were no interview no entrance nothing. Till now it is as same as before.

Faculty

3

The effectiveness and qualifications of law faculty members are making theory easy to understand and give us ground level knowledge about lawprepares them for legal careers. Faculty members who are active researchers contribute in the assignment making and help us to prepare an article on law topics. Negative points are- they are less formal doesn't provide notes and checking technique is not good at all they deduct marks aggressively.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why i chose to pursue the degree of BA.LLB is because of enlightenment and awareness it gives to an individual about what is happening around them and the legal and fundamental rights of a common person with no political power in India. The curriculum somewhat prepares student for a real world experience as the degree involves internships from 3rd year onwards. I'm still learning myself so can't tell what's there to improve in studies and the syllabus. 2 exams being held every semester, that is internals and the externals. It comes with a leniency though, because it could be harder but isn't, just enough shall be gone through before the exams. Even if someone pays attention in the class with no notes and not being busy on the phone, he/she can still pass easily.

Placement Experience:

At our college to get the PPO is the best way as college hardly has placements opportunities to be honest. Most law colleges though face this issue as placement for law college happens only at top NLUs and all.

Highest package was of 12 lakhs which was offered by Trilegap to one of our students and it was because she herself earned PPO by interning with them for four months. College placements aren't that good as not many lawyers or law firms come to our college for placements.

Not many as Arbitration lawyers and some law chambers which are a prominent name have approached our college to send some students for interview. So, I think PPO is the best way to find placements for students studying law.

Many litigation firms and corporate firms and even institutes which needs associate or young professors come to our college for placements. PPO is what most students get through intenrship and otherwise the next best option is find it ourself as college placements apart for a few are not so great.

Packages aren't as high as NLUs or the other colleges as we hardly get paid but experience is everything in law and we are given placements to experience lawyers and their houses of law. At max 20-30k a month is what we are offered from college placements.

Placement Experience:

Only 30-40 percent studnets get placed at a salary of some 30-40k as conversion ratio of actual placement is quite low here. We get enough help and assistance but actually only a few manages to. For those who does well in internships gets a direct PPO as our college is a cult name when it comes to legal studies.
