I am enrolled in Data science and engineering. The course curriculum so far (till 2nd yr) is very much specific for data science. I have heard that companies don't generally take data science students from btech as they prefer students from mtech more. So in general even if ur branch is data science u might end up in an SDE job.

Companies like microsoft, adobe, etc come but the number of companies that come for internship opportunity are very less as compared to that of placements. You have to dedicate yourself to make a good project and learn DSA to get into one.

There is a placement cell dedicated for placement processes. For internships companies come in 5th sem and 6th sem which r not much. It is compulsary for u to do an internship anywhere. There is also an IC department in campus where people who don't get one work for a month.

My course fees is 509000 which is extremely expensive compaired to other colleges in India. If you get a good job then you can have a good rate of return. Else enjoy your college life and after that thinking how to repay the loan :(

Revels and TechTatva are 2 main annual events in even and odd semesters respectively. There is a big library open from 7am till 11pm. Almost all range of books are available here If you don't find one, they'll place an order for u :) There are various technical, non technical clubs and student projects u can be a part of.

I pay 152000 for double AC attatched bathroom. It is a bit expensive (not much) but its better to stay is hostel that rent a room. People generally after 2nd year want to move out of campus but then they realize Manipal is expensive in general :)

Admission process is pretty smooth. I had given MET exam and i got a rank of about 3k. I applied for councelling in 5th round and got ECE then..in 6th round I got my branch DSE. The only part that i didn't like was that the councelling fees was 10k :/

Almost every faculty has a PHD degree. Teachers are well versed and qualified for the content they teach. They are ready to solve your doubts even after their working hours. Many professors are working for one or more projects and if you want to join in and contribute they will guide you well.
