Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is not too hectic or too easy, it is just exactly how it should be. The curriculum always focuses on a practical approach so that we are able to apply what we learn. Exams are not very stressful if you start preparing even a week before.

Placement Experience

3.5

Students start giving mock interviews from their 8th semester itself. The campus placements from Nirma is pretty average. Companies like Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Trilegal visit Nirma but they give an offer to only 1 or 2 students. Most of the companies offer a package around 8,00,000 per annum. I plan to take the judicial services examination after the completion of my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of Nirma is 2,96,000 per year for a 5-year integrated course. The hostel fees is 1,02,000 per year. The mess and laundary fees is 58,000. There are two kinds of scholarships. Scholarships based on merit who are given to students with a good rank in the CLAT examination and students who perform well in college. The second type of scholarship is given on the basis of merit cum means wherein the merit and income of student is considered and then scholarship is granted.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is decent. The clubs and societies in Nirma are pretty active. Ashvamedha fest of Institute of Law, Nirma University takes places in the month of April. The library has a number of books avaliable which are easily accessable. All the classrooms have smart boards and air conditioning. Sports and extracurriculur activitiez are prevalent in the campus.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel of Nirma is extremely good. There are two types of room- AC triple sharing and non-AC triple sharing. The fees of the hostel is a bit high for 1,02,000 per annum. The mess food is above average and is good in quality. The infrastructure of the hostel is excellent with all the basic amenities available.

Admission

The eligibility of the course is appearing for CLAT examination and falling somewhere under Rank 7000. There is no reservation benefit in Nirma. There are 3 MCQs out of which best of 2 is selected. Moreover, we have mid semesters, projects, vivas and then the end semester. The admission process is very smooth. All we need to do is fill the admission form and take the CLAT examination. If your rank falls within 7000, you will most likely get into Nirma.

Faculty

4

Most of the professors are currently doing their PhD from a good NLU and are about to complete it. The faculty-to-student ratio is appropriate. All the faculties are generally available when needed. Most of them have an in-depth knowledge of their subject. The faculties who have studied previously from Nirma have a better understanding of law than the faculties who have studied from other law colleges.

Other Applied Colleges

NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law - [KPMSOL] | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

NMIMS is definitely a great college, but when it comes to law. There is a little focus on the department of law. They focus more on management side. Moreover the cost of living in mumbai is a bit expensive.

Christ University | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

Christ is not good for professional courses.

Maximum students passed out from ILNU go for corporate law while those who want to work in dream law firms get the much needed chance here. Top law firms like Cyrilchand Amardas and Trilegal and others also come for placement here. So, far the highest placements from ILNU has been of 24LPA.

Very few students as unlike SLS or Christ were the intake is close to 500 students every year at ILNU it is less than half of it. So, as simple as it can get that over 50% students of our college are placed and not just the corporate houses but in dream litigations firlam like the Khaitan and the Induslaw as well.

Placement Experience:

At ILNU corporate placements are high rather than LAW firms as the college has a management college as well. So, placements are in large corporations like the Adani Enterprises, Reliance Industries, GSFC and others. At ILNU students getting 10-12 LPA is common but everyone doesn't have placements and therefore the averages drops to 7-8 LPA.

Placements from campus are still lean but we are assisted through seminars and corporate events to find the best placements for ourselves. Our college makes us independent and make us competent enough that we don't have to struggle much for jobs.

Placement Experience:

The placements are promised for law, but it's better if you apply by yourself because Karnavati doesn't have much reputation when it comes to law placements. It is much better if you get the job on your own merits. Make sure you do internships every vacation and gain hands-on experience at multiple places.
