I applied for MBA via CAT (Common Admission Test) & got an interview option via the Common Admission Process (CAP). I applied for all the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) which offered MBA & got selected for three of them: Madras, Jaipur & Dhanbad. I applied for MBA via the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota which is executed by the state government. If the annual family income is less than 8 lakh, one can apply for the same. The minimum percentile required was overall 90%ile & 75%ile each in all three sections. One interview is taken for all the nine new IIMs (all except Rohtak). I got selected in all NEW & BABY IIMs except Rohtak & Udaipur. In the end, I opted for Ranchi as my MBA college. The interview was taken online via ZOOM on a stipulated date. I was given a date & time for the same. I was given a date, time & link to appear for the same in formal dress & the interview happened online only. The student fraternity at IIM Ranchi is very much friendly, happening and support worthy. The seniors guide the juniors in a smooth manner. The Induction is quite awesome for the students who get into the MBA program. The teaching faculties are also good. But, at times I felt that the Finance faculty could have been better as the existing ones are not that good and student friendly. The Economics faculty happens to be the best at IIM Ranchi. The admission happens through the CAT scores post which WAT and PI are conducted. The results are declared in the month of March and April while admission happens in June. IIM Ranchi - Excellence and Serenity Let me first begin by letting you know that I'm currently pursuing my MBA at IIM Ranchi. Hence you may get a notion that my review is a little bit biased but that is certainly not the case. The institute provides a good infrastructure with a plethora of online resources. The admission to MBA Programme is based on performance in CAT followed by PI, WAT and academic profile. After the CAT results are out, an initial shortlist is prepared for students who are eligible for the WAT-PI process. This is based on the CAT percentile and is announced during mid-January. Post the completion of the WAT PI process, a consolidated Merit list is prepared on the basis of components like CAT score, PI score and profile and their corresponding weights. I preferred this college over other colleges because it is the fastest-growing IIM among new IIMs and the average package is increasing every year.
