Reviewing IIIT hyderabad inside out

I am a computer science and engineering (CSE) students. Iam very much satisifed with the course curriculum till now . as most of the courses which we do throughout the semester are useful in our future for industry purpose . we do believe a lot in practicality so do our courses . we mostly have tech courses which are good numberof credits other than that we also have sports , arts and a maths courses, an electronic courses . in short our course curriculum covers evrything needed . we have exams strucrured as quiz 1 - midsem - quiz 2 -endsem . geberally theses are at a gap of onr month from each other as the semester is of 4 months . apart from these we have labs, assignments, assignment evaluations,projects and other things in between throughout the semester.The difficult level of the exams depends upon one's preparation. but still the question paper , lab questions are not very easy they need a decent amount of knowledge to solve . direct questions are very rarely given in exams .

The campus placements are excellent in our campus . Our college is often know for for its placements . we have recorded a flawless 100% placements last to last year . and our campus was the first one where apple visited for campus placements . the avergae package in CSE is 24 lakhs per annum while the lowest is 12 lakhs per annum. we have our intership drives after 2nd year and most of the students gets inetrships which further gets converted to pre placement offer.

As for now , the tution fee per semster is 2 lakhs . It gets incremented every year by 20k . There are two ways on which the college provides financial assistance . one is through bank loan of upto 30 lakhs without any security deposit. the bank is sbi which is inside the campus only . the other way is through alumni support .in this the students fee is paid by alumni fund and the students needs to repay the amount to the alumni support group after getting a job within 2 years . the mess and tution fee will cost around 45-50k per semester depending upon what meals we register for. we get scholarships such as Realiance foundation, ongc and LG scholarship. so far we have recoredre 100 percent placements last to last year . our college has summer internships also with decent stipend. our campus is very research oriented so it often gets interns who are intereseted in reasearch work .

Our campus is spread around 66 acres in gachibowli at the heart of hyderabad . our campus is surrounded by tech companies like wipro,tcs,infosys ,microsoft and so many ohers . the annual fest here is called FELICITY . it is a 3 day long fest with lots of fu and enjoyment . a numerous of events takes place during the fest. renowed artists visit for performing in the fest . it is held in the spring semester around jan-feb . LIBRARY : there is a central library with numerous physical and e-books. we have well facilited classrooms , labs . all are well equipped and has air conditioners ,mics, digital screens, projecters, fire alarms etc. in all of them . we have decent sports facilities which includes football court , basketball court , badminton court , cricket nets , tennis court , table tennis , pool and all other indoor games too . we do have sports courses like yoga , martial arts, table tennis , badmintion(for girls) etc. we have 23 student run clubs ,organisations ,associations.

Hostel and Mess are quite good than what is expected .In hostels all facitilies are provided . Each room has to be shared by two people each on has a seperate bed, study table and chair . the room has a two door almirah . washrooms are pretty good faciliated with hot water and cold water taps, showers etc . there are well maintained and cleaned everyday . the hostel rooms are cleaned once a week or can be cleaned anytime if wanted . the hostel has facilities such as washing machines,lift , medical room,kitchen room , reading space , badminton court , drying area etc. our college is not for day scholars . so everyone has to be in hostel only. the mess food is very good. we have 4 messes . we can register for any mess depending upon the menu .

we have 7 modes of admisiions for undergraduates . 1. JEE : admisiions are based on jee main scores .the cutoffs are generally very high artound 99.8-99.9 percentile in jee mains . through this we can get only in single degree courses like CSE,ECE .it has 100 seats in each course. 2. SPEC : students enrolled in 6 year integraed btech program aftyer 12th and jnv students are eligible . they have to clear one written test(MCQS) SUPR and then qualify interview to get seat. has 15 seats each in CSE,ECE. 3. DASA : the applicant must hold a foreign passport and admission is made through SAT scores .the cutoff is generally around 1550-1600. 4. UGEE : this is for dual degree . they have to clear written exams in 2 stages SUPR + REAP . thereafter, qualify the interview round to get a seat . 5. LEEE : students already enrolled in btech and are in currently 4th semester can apply to continue btech from iiit hyderabad from ug2 . they have to clear written test and interview. 6,7:OLympiad ,BOARDS.

There are around 340 students in our batch including all the single degree and dual degree courses . we are broadly divided into two sections for courses which are common to all like C programming, DSA etc . so it becomes 1:170 factulty to students ratio for common courses . other than that for courses which are only for certain degrees the falutly to students ration is around 1:40 . this is the scenario most of the times . other than that we are divided into groups for tutorials which are conducted bt the teaching assistants . each group has around 32 students with two TA's . The faculty are highly qualifies from IIT's , harvard and other renowed foreign institutions . Their way of teaching is excellent and it is very easier to intercat and connect with them . we can mail them or we can directly visit their lab/cabin for any doubt clearenace or guidance . they are easily approachable . other than that the TAs are always approachable . they clarify all our doubts in tutorials.
