Student's Snapshots

Campus

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum is not so good. Why because, noe the course is theory oriented. So that the students are not getting proper practical experience in software field. Moreover, the way of studying is exam oriented. Only two projects are there:in S4, mini project and in S8, main project. I think it's better to add more practicals in the curriculum.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placements are average. There is orientation classes on Placement drives. You need to pass the course without any backlogs. Then only u can attend the placement drives. However, there is some companies that are giving placements for students having 1-2 backlogs. The average package is from 3- 4.75 lpa. This year only 10 students out of 62 are placed from CS department.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since this is a government college, the course fee is around 13k per year.On the admission day we have to pay the full amount. But there is extra exam fee around 2k depends on number of subject per semester. And the hostel rent is 310/- per month and Mess fee is around 3k depends on the number of days you are having the food. Several scholarships and fellowships are providing.

Campus Life

4

I have a good experience. As a college student, I was so excited for college arst and tech fest. But unfortunately, in these 4yrs(2020-2024) there was no tech fest in my college. I have gained a lot of knowledge in this field. So, it is good to participate in hackathon competitions. And there is NSS, IeEE, Technoship Cell, Movie club, Dance club, Music club, Oasis (paliative care unit)...

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I am a hosteller. There is 2 hostels for girls ,which is inside the college campus. For boys, hostels are 1-2 kms away from the college. There college bus facility. And there is another stay facilities for boys in cheruthoni. In girls hostel ,rent :310/pmonth, mess bill around 3k aand Hostel development fund :100 per sem. Food is comparatively good(7/10) .

Admission

The admission is through the KEAM exam. In 2020 the last rank was 12k something.Cut off varies with the cast.If yur are lookng Btech admission, then you have to qualify the KEAM entrance exam, mainly t3 subjects:Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Admission is besed on the score.

Faculty

3.5

They are so supprotive. The way of teaching is good. But some of them are not giving propernotes on the subjects.Provide good guidance on our projects. And also give support for extra curriculae activities.

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.
