I basically chose Jaipuria College for the teaching. Best level education is provided in this college.
The teachers are very friendly here. They support and guide students in academics as well as personal and professional manner.
Library is provided with many books. Campus is also big. The seniors are also very friendly. Everything about this college is perfect.

This college was suggested to me by my seniors, friends and relatives. I chose this degree because I have a keen interest about Literature and choosing Jaipuria for education was one of the best decision of my life. Majorly because of it's quality of education.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are also held. Students can choose their respective fields for internships. There are summer internships and winter internships. Placements are also held most probably in summer vacations.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is very low as compared to other govt colleges. It is regarded as the best college in comparison to other govt colleges of Kolkata. The traveling expenses is also very low. Bus, metro, ferry, every thing is available nearby.

Campus Life

Overall experience very nice. Top level education is provided. Events are also held frequently. Seminars are conducted for more knowledgeable experience. Sports are also held. And college students also participate in inter college programs.

Admission

No entrance exam was conducted at my time of admission. But after that year, I think cuet was introduced. I am still unsure about this. But you have to score really very well to get admission in this college. It is one of the most reputed colleges and you need to score really well in your 12. Application form and other necessary things about admission can be found in college website.

Faculty members are also very friendly and supportive. Once in a year a get together is held aka Alumni meet. In that program all ex students gather and relive their college life and also approach students to solve their problems.

We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.

Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Department of Bengali is one of the oldest Bengali department in the state. It offers undergraduate honours and postgraduate courses. Recently, they have started PhD courses as well. The Bengali department is actively engaged in research in hot topics in literature. The curriculam of Presidency university is most diverse among all other University, colleges in the state. It begins with very basic topics at the first year and ends with very specific research level papers at the final year. The syllabus is so advance that bachelors students can compare themselves with the masters level students after completeing the course. I will mention the bachelor course curriculam in summary: Semester I- Prachin Bangla Sahitya O Bangalir Itihas sandhan, Bangla bhasar itihas o bhasatotto, Semester II- Prak chaitanya juger bangla sahityer itihas, Madhyajuger bangla sahityer itihas o kabyapath, Semester III- Shorosh o soptodosh shotabdir samaj: itihas o chaitanyadeb, Ashtadosh shatabdir samaj sangkriti, changa-alanlkar o prof sangsodhan, Semester IV- Adhunik juger udbhab, gadya o probondho sahitya, kabya-kabitae itihas, natoker itihas o rupbhed, Semester V- Bangla Upanyas, Bangla chotogolpo, Rabindranath, Semester VI- Unish o Bish shataker bangla samaj songskriti o sahitya, bhinna bhasar sahityer itihas o tar obhighat, bharatiya alangkar shatra, sahitya o shilpo. Other than these compulsory courses, there are lot of exceptional elective courses that attracted me more towards joining this prestigious university. Since Presidency University select specific students through their difficult entrance tests, the semester exams should not be difficult for the students, but there are some papers in the course which needs to delt with extra care and attention to get extra marks.

SAJC - From The Eye of a Student.

There was only 3 better colleges I couldn't apply to. They were St.Xaviers Kolkata, Goenka and Maulana Azad. Seth Anandram Jaipuria College is among the top 5 colleges and is well known. It is also the best college in North Kolkata, some might not agree to me though. The deciding factors for me were very low fees, decent quality teachers, and the most important, quality of crowd and reputation of the college.
