BIT SINDRI, A complete review

This course is a very emerging and important aspect of all our lives. The buildings and the infrastructure around us, the roads on which we travel to learn these things is quite fascinating for me which has catched my attention towards this course. This course is very impactful in solving real world problems taking accountability of the environment as well. there are 2 semesters conducted each year and 4 internal exams the difficulty level is moderate. The teaching methods used by the faculty members are very impactful. There are various labs present in the department such as environmental lab, soil lab , concrete structure lab, transportation engineering lab which helps student gain practical knowledge to solve real world problems.

There are various internship opportunities provided by the college to the students in their 3rd year of the BTech course. Companies such as TATA STEEL in its INSPIRE program offered a stipend of 40k per month for 3 months which were later converted to PPO pre placement offers. JUSCO also provides internships to students with stipend and later on PPOs. Reputed companies such as ITC, Microsoft also gave internship opportunities to the students. Research internships are also given to students under MITACS.

Placement scenario in college is quite well and about 80-90% of the students are provided with placement offers. The students become eligible for the placement drive from their 6th semester which continues upto the end of their session. Very reputed companies visited the college such as JSW, TATA STEEL, TATA POWER, ITC, VEDANTA, SAMSUNG, DELOITTE, YAMAHA etc. and many more reputed companies. This year the highest package offered was 15 lakh per annum by Samsung and the average package was 6LPA. The students are hired for the role of GET that is graduate engineer trainee and IT companies hired for the role of analysts, software developer etc. To work for such reputed companies just after getting the degree is an opportunity that noone should miss.

The fee structure is quite budget friendly and costs around 15000 in a year which is quite cheap in today's world. The hostel fees costs around 10000 in a year and the mess charges are around 4000 per month. There are various scholarship programs offered by the college such as E-kalyan for students belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories. Manki Munda scholarship program for girls. The college has a career development centre which accounts for the training and placement activities of the college. The placement scenario in the college is quite good and offers an average package of 6Lpa and the Highest package offered was 28 Lpa.The students are hired for the role of GET's graduate engineer trainee. Some IT companies hire for the role of analyst and software developer as well. Very reputed companies such as ITC, Tata Steel, JSW, Tata power, Vedanta, Samsung, Deloitte etc. visit this college and hires student.

The overall experience in the campus life is full of mixed emotions, we make some life longing friends and memories for that the college provides with various opportunity to the students such as the availability of different clubs and societies such as technical clubs such as ISTE, IETE, Model club and cultural clubs like photography club, painting wing, ARTS club of BIT which is quite famous. There are various events organised by these clubs and societies. Also tech fest, TECH MAHOTSAV that is organised once in a year is combinedly conducted by the technical clubs of BIT Sindri. The cultural clubs conduct the cultural fest of BIT. There is a NGO that is run by the students of BIT Sindri where we teach the children who can't afford to go to the school. Sports club of the college conducts various sports on college and intercollege levels. Talking of the central library, it has a very good environment to study and almost all the books are available in the library related to the course.

Yes the college provides hostel facilities to the students both girls and boys separately. The rooms are quite decent and 3 people share a room which has enough space and is nice and clean. The mess food is also good obviously it's not same as home but it is quite good in the budget. The menu has different options for both vegetarian and non vegetarian people. I opted for the girls hostel which is inside the campus of BIT SINDRI. Registration process for hostel is done in the admission process itself and is very easy.

To take admission in this college and particularly in this course a cutoff percentile was fixed which was based on the JEE main percentile. The college gave a CML rank to the students and then admission process was completed after 3 rounds of counselling process. There are seats reserved for categories of SC, ST, OBC, GEN-EWS and tuition fee waivers. The exams are conducted regularly on time and the level of the paper is good which is for the betterment of the students studying in such a reputed college of Jharkhand. The admission process was quite smooth and easy to understand. One area of improvement in the admission process would be if the college releases an official video telling about the procedures involved can be beneficial for the students willing to take admission in this college.

The faculty members are very well qualified and are very open to communicate. They provide quality education to the students. Theoretical as well as practical knowledge is given to the students. The faculty members are so transparent that we can discuss our problems related to the academics with them whenever we want.
