Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The Integrated MSc Physics course is poorly designed as of now. The first year gives more emphasis on other subjects rather than physics. In the first year, the student barely does any physics subjects. The curriculum is very less emphatic in the fundamental physics courses. Instead of teaching the fundamental physics courses first (which is how it should be done), the curriculum puts in application-based electives ahead of the fundamental courses. Right now we have a lot of courses based on material science but not a lot of courses in the field of pure physics. So this curriculum is apt for someone if they are into material science and more applied physics rather than pure physics.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as the tuition fee is concerned, I feel that it is very reasonable and nominal for the kind of service we get. There are various scholarships based on your academic record available. But employability training is done very poorly for our course. There are very little to none internship opportunities or any of that sort facilitated by the management.

Campus Life

4

Campus Life in our college is pretty awesome. Annually, we host an intercollegiate cultural fest named 'Riviera' and an intercollegiate technical fest named 'Gravitas'. These are pretty big events in terms of grandeur. Apart from these every student can be part of clubs and Chapters. And there are regular events that take place in these clubs and Chapters that all of the students can participate. The sporting facilities are very good in the campus. There is a designated area for every sport. Sometimes the management is hesitant to give students the freedom to take some decisions regarding their clubs and Chapters. But the facilities provided are wonderful. There is nothing to do outside of campus.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels in our college are generally well maintained and very big. The girls and boys have different hostel areas and are prohibited from entering the other hostel area. The infrastructure and facilities of the rooms are generally good but that heavily depends on the block you choose to live in. Every hostel room is provided with a cot, a cupboard, a shelf, and a working table. We can choose between AC and non-AC rooms. The price of the accomodation depends on the type of room you choose and the block you choose. The hostels are allotted through a counseling process based on your CGPA. The mess food is also generally good but that also heavily depends upon which mess and caterers you choose. We can choose between veg, non-veg, and special mess. The meal quality is pretty decent and the menu variety depends on the type of mess you choose.

Admission

There is NO entrance exam for this course as of now. The eligibility is based on your 12th board exams. The admission process is very straight forward and it is well maintained. Everything that you need to know about the admission can be found in the college website. And it is a very simple task to complete to process.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties in this college are well qualified. Every faculty holds a PhD in their respective field. There are ample amount of faculty for the student to choose from. The faculty-to-student ratio is very less compared to other private colleges in India. They are very experienced in their respective fields and can help the student in various aspects such as internships, research, and placements. The faculty members here are very professional and are usually very good communicators.
