Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am pursuing with B.A (Hons) Economics and I found it very good that they teach all the relevant subjects in curriculum in each semester They give the subject options to you at the starting of the semester and in whatever subjects you feel comfortable you can opt for those subjects.I found it very good that it's in students hand to choose there subjects Curriculum teaches us how to deal with the syllabus and all the competencies and it gives a very good vibe. There is nothing much to improve in the course curriculum but one thing I felt is that they should provide a proper study material for the subject. Difficulty level of the exams is moderate mostly everyone can cross the level easily if he/she studies regularly and take the classes.

Fees and Financial Aid

Few structure is based on the course you choose. I pay nearly 12k per two semesters that I think Is not too much when we see the fees of other colleges. It feels worth it.They don't increase the fees like every year but when they increase they increase upto 5 to 7 percent which is a good hike. Some students don't like this but you this has to be done because it is good for the campus to open and explore new things it takes time and money. Complete fees I have paid in four years is nearly 70k. This includes all the college things like examination forms and all. Scholarships are rare because this university is alloted on the basis of common university entrance test. Employment in campus you will face difficulty to find but out of the campus you can find it very easily.

Campus Life

5

Campus Life is great in the north campus. It's just best you will find everything in the campus and if not available then all the things on a very certain distance from the campus. It's structure is very good and the crowd in the campus is also good. Very familiar students and teachers and overall very good campus. You will find a place to eat a place to chill a place to sit. Everything is available in campus so it's best.

Admission

Colleges of Delhi University is alloted in the basis of common University entrance test. In this you have to give test for the subjects you studied in your 12th class and then you need to fill your preferences based on the colleges and then simply the cut off lists are out and you can see your result and according to that tha campus and colleges are alloted to you. It's the very simple process and is applied since last two years. I have not availed any reservation benefits but you can avail them.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of Delhi University is well known for its teaching because it gives a very well and experienced teaching to students and most of the students appreciate it. Faculty to student ratio is very good because in each college of the campus you will find out a good strength of teachers. Teacher is assigned to every subject. Faculty's credentials I would say is very good in every aspect. They self approach the students if they have any kind of problem not allowed the teachers but most of themselves goes and ask students if they have any problem. You can interact to teacher very easily in the class and I too interact to them very often

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. Also companies like Blackstone, accenture, nomura come for placements and the highest package that has been offered to a student was INR 45 LPA!

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
