- Being a 3rd gen IIT since there are a few drawbacks there are also several opportunities in every way like you can personally consult any faculty for any help as per your interest.
- You can hold various positions of responsibility and explore various virtues of your life.
- I like that the campus is away from the city uts quite green and healthy environment.
Dislikes
- Since its under construction we can't totally enjoy the IIT infrastructure.
- Dharwad is not the location I prefer for the IIT it could have been a lot better although there are a lot of tourists spots around so it neutralizes the effect.
- Placements are not very good being an IIT it should perform a lot better hope it does in the near future.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted electrical engineering as I was kindly interested in physics and communication over all the course curriculum is very good as it also includes electronics and communication courses along with the electrical. It overall prepares us for real life problem handling. Though I personally do not prefer core electrical courses I enjoy electronics and communication part quite a lot. There are also several electives and research opportunities you can take up to complete your degree.
Internships Opportunities
There are several companies such as intel resolute and several other that provide internship opportunities there are also several rnd projects in campus in several domains you can take up. The students are compensated fairly.
Placement Experience
Student's are available for placement opportunities after 7th sem the exact number of company varies the highest package on campus was around 52lpa average is around 18lpa the offers were made in several domains such as cse ai web dev ee AutoCAD machanics etc. I plan on for taking placements opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee is 100000 and hostel mess gym and other charges account upto 36500 approx. You can opt three types of scholarship MCM(merit based) Means(income based) and category based. Mcm includes refunding the tution fee and a 1000 monthly accommodation. There are several bank loan sources available on campus that include SBI and Canara. They are more than happy to sanction the education loans.
Campus Life
There are several fests throughout the year feb includes parsec(tech fest) the e summit by the IIC. There are several clubs and the interested students make it their motive to make it better everyday conducting workshops soi competition and several other competitions. There are several sports available like badminton basketball cricket hockey football.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is quite good and the rooms are quite good and spacious also LAN's are available in every room along with routers outside the room. The mess menu is quite diverse and the taste is also satisfactory. The hostels are very affordable and have close access to mess and classrooms.
Admission
The opening rank for electrical engineering for Jee Advanced was around 7k and closing rank 10k for general candidates. The josaa counselling requires you to submit your details and register after advanced exam upon filling up for counselling you can avail the choices of seats and seats will be allocated accordingly.
Faculty
As already mentioned the faculty are highly qualified and experienced some are from IIT's itself whereas there are several professors who are qualified from esteemed foreign universities. Since the student intake is quite less the availability is quite good which makes overall learning experience a lot better. You can interact learn and reach out any faculty at almost anytime and most of them are quite generous to help.
