IIT Dharwad is new but not forever..

Course cirrulum is great but it also comes with some drawbacks, firstly the good things are Starting from Basics, Giving Various Hands-On labs to students like Mechanical, Civil, Drawing, Programming. But drawbacks are lack of more practical application and integrated courses. the curriculum and exams needs to more pratical and not bookish.

There are many options that students can avail for getting an intership that may be paid or unpaid. It can from professors, self founded or offered from career development cell. Major interships are placed during the winter and summer breaks.

College contains a department (mainly students operated) called CDC( career development cell) that mainly handles about reaching compainies for placement and internships for our students. placement percentage is almost 70-80% and others going for higher studies or something else with an average package of 14-15 lakhs per annum.

Talking about the fees structure, each student have to pay a significant amount of 3 lakhs per year as a fees. Scholarships are open for students in reservation like OBC, ST, SC and EWS. The students belonging to any category having parental income less than 5-7 lakhs per annum can also avail these scholarships giving a total redemption of 2 lakhs that is the tution fees per year. Fee structure is same for a particular batch irrespective of the branches but can be little different in different years. Fees also include some deposits for library, Gym, Medical facilites that help the students to get all the facilities without paying any more charge after the fees paid. Giving a rough distribution of the fees paid per year would be: Tution fees that is 2 Lakhs per year, Hostel and mess fees that is 42-45000 per year, Management and Deposits accounts for the remaining fees.

Social life in our campus is great irrespective our college is new and in developing phase, there are many fests, events and festivals that runs throughout the year. Almost every basic facility is provided by the college to make student life easier. there are vast range of books in library, almost every equipment required in a gym, a canteen, an atm, a barber shop, a stationary and a general shop.

Each student is allowed to stay only in hostel of campus premises and cannot rent flat or any other hostel. the room is quite big because of four sharing of students. mess menu is diverse and contains all major option from north and south. Hostel and mess are quite affordable as per facilities provided.

The college comes within the list the prestigious colleges 'IITs' and that is the major reason to choose this college and not any other with my rank in jee advance. all you need to do is clear jee advance with a minimum rank of 16-17k to get entered and for computer science it is around 4-5k. Admission is smooth once you get a decent rank and offer lettered by Josaa.

talking about the faculty to student ratio is differs in each branch like in older branches like Computer science, Mechanical and Electrical it is about 1 to 60 but in newer branches like Chemical and Civil it is around 1 to 25. All the faculties are good and highly qualified. Some faculties i don't like maybe for there teaching style rest all things are good, there are total of 4 exams in one semester including one midsem and one endsem. Difficulty is moderate and is based on books and lectures only.

Nightlife at IIT Dharwad is quiet most of the time with pleasant weather and we usually prefer to take a round in the campus. Gym closes around 10-11pm. Library is 24x7 open for self studies and for books it closes at 6pm. there are no restriction for hostel timing but are restrictions for main gate of our campus that is 11pm.
