Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I'm a political science UG student and i wish to pursue a career in international relations. Apart from this bookish knowledge, teachers need to encourage students to impart practical knowledge and gain experience for a better future of the youth. Nowadays Delhi university is giving enough time to prepare for the exams, Eventhough each semester will be over within a period of three and a half month. It's a burden for US!!!. The course curriculum needs to involve more practical knowledge other than theory knowledge. Studying this curriculum is anyway helpful for students for our future plans.

Internships Opportunities

3

Recently delhi university has invited students for a summer intership programme. They will provide us stipends and a certificate also and i think that will be beneficial for our CV too. NGO programmes and project is also encouraged in my college, i don't know the further details .

Fees and Financial Aid

The Fee of BA honours political science provided in university of delhi is affordable for most of students. Each year costs around 13-15 k and the examination fee will cost around 1100 - 1200 -1500 per semester. The fees will vary around the number of practicals and viva. i'm not receiving any kind of financial assistance from Delhi university scholarship. I haven't recieved any campus employment opportunities as they are not providing that. Tution fees are increasing per year.

Campus Life

3

50% percentage of our campus life depends on the kind of friends we make. My college is having a number of societies and they are encouraging extra curricular activities also like NCC, SPORTS, YOGA, TAEKWONDO AND GYM IS ALSO AVAILABLE. College societies portrays an important role in college life. I'm a part of south indian society of our college.

Admission

From the academic year of 2022 onwards the central universities in india started admitting students based on their entrance marks. The exam that i have written is CUET ( CENTRAL UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST ). This examination was conducted by NTA (NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY.) The complete details of the APPLICATION FORM, FEES, DATES, ELIGILBILITY CRITERIA WAS AVAILABLE IN THE WEBSITE OF NTA AND THE RESPECTIVE UNIVERSITIES. I haven't recieved any kind of reservation benefits. The eligilbility to write this exam was to have 55% percentage of marks in higher secondary examination. The eligilbility of my course was to pass the entrance exam with a good mark in three of the domain subjects that we choose. This examination is usually considered as a moderate exams in UG LEVEL. THE EXAMINATION CENTRES were available according to our chance. Actually there is no needed of any kind of improvement in this exams as it avoids certain kind of DISCRIMINATION.

Faculty

2.5

As i mentioned before, the professors of Delhi university are well qualified from top universites and most of them are having an PHD. But the teaching is not good enough, most of them are not devoted to their duty as a professor, they will blabber something and at the end of the class they will ask for the sylabus. They won't teach us much but they will be giving us a tons of presentation and Assignments. Teachers are not so student friendly they won't even accept our genuine excuses. There are enough professors To teach in my department and student ratio is also equal.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
