Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is good. Specially after the introduction of CBCS scheme, the course is well equipped with all the points that are required in order to active good skills. I have chosen electronics and communication engineering as my course because of the increasing interests and opportunities this field is creating. The curriculum for ECE is good but lab facilities are not up to that mark. I feel that the course curriculum is alright. But there is a need to improve the teaching methods. Professors should be trained to use technology to deliver lectures and connect well with the students. Also, lab facilities should be improved as well because labs can only provide the practical experience and knowledge of our field. Exams are conducted twice in a semester and four times in a year. Months are February, April, October, December. Difficulty level of exam is easy to moderate. Since the grading is relative, students can pass the examinations easily.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Internship opportunities are not very good in our college. Nearly only about 20-25 percent of the student get internship opportunities on campus. Highest stipend got by a student in internship till now is 50 LPA.

Placement Experience

3.5

Pre Placements Offers starts from the 3rd year only and placements goes upto the end of fourth year. Many good companies like WIPRO, INFOSYS, DBOI, Microsoft, Samsung, etc visit the campus and recruits students. In ECE, highest on campus offer made was of 55 LPA and the average is approx. 14 LPA. Placements of core branches is very good. Many good core Placement companies visit and recruit many students. Almost 80-85 percent of the eligible students get placed. My plan after getting the degree is to get placed in a good and reputed core ECE company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is approximately 70000 per semester. Tution fee doesn't hike regularly and at a time, there is doesn't increases much, nearly 500-1000 at once. Tution fee remission is also available based on annual family income certificate. If income is between 1-5 lakhs per annum, then 66 percent remission is provided in the tution fee. If income is less than 1 lakhs per annum then 100 percent tuition fee remission is provided. My annual family income is between 1-5 LPA. So, annually my education cost comes out as 113000. Breakup is : 55000 for hostel and mess, 28000-29000 per semester for two semesters. So complete cost of whole BTech degree for four years will come out as 450000-475000.

Campus Life

3

Campus Life is not too good not too bad. Annual and technical festivals are conducted regularly and actively. Some of those are : Aavartar (The tech fest), Avinya (The innovation fest), Shruti (The musical fest) and the most important, the annual fest of our college is 'Eclectika' conducted in February-March every year. More than ten lakh books are available in the college library which can be issued by the students as per their requirement. Classrooms are required which proper smart boards and projectors. Sports and extracurricular activities are very good and proper participation of students is ensured in these.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are provided with a bed, table, chair, rack and an almirah. Food quality is not too good not too bad. We are provided with food 4 times a day as breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Menu is Good and can be changed by the mess committee which consists of the 4 students of that hostel who are selected by the warden. Proper representation of all the areas of India is ensured in choosing the members for the committees. Non veg is provided twice a weak and veg students get paneer on those two times. Hostel registration can be done immediately after the admission for the first year. And later, it can be done online by the students at the end of even semesters.

Admission

Eligibility of the course is 12th pass. And then you have to appear in the JEE Mains exam and get the rank required for admission. Application forms can be found at the website of NTA (National Testing Agency). The application fee is 1000 for one attempt and there are a maximum of two attempts per year. Applications generally come out in the month of January for the first attempt and in April for the second attempt. Reservation benefits are provided but I have not available then and so, don't know much about it. The difficulty level of the JEE Mains exam is good. It is not very easy to qualify. The admission process is very good and smooth in my Point of view. The only area of improvement can be in the process of prioritising the college and courses beforehand and the inability to change it thereafter.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to student ratio is very high. In 1st year, 90 students are there in one section so the ratio is 1:90. Some of the faculties approach of teaching is very good. They use and understand technology well and use it well. But most of the teachers are of consecutive mindset and do not even allow students to use technology during lectures. We can reach out to any teacher for help at any time. Most of the teachers provide their contact details to the students also. We can contact them and ask them when and where we can meet them regarding any mentorship or course related issues.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are eligible to appear for campus placements which starts towards the end of their 7th semester. Companies that visited for Civil Engineering: L&T, Adani, Stratview Research, PlanetSpark and several local firms. The highest packages were offered by Adani (approx 7 LPA) and L&T (6-7 LPA). Around 5-7 students received placement offers from the mentioned companies. It is important to note that a lot many students did not sit for campus placements as they had different career aspirations (government jobs, higher education, business ventures etc.) My plans were to prepare for upcoming competitive government exams as well as try my hand at something different and creative

1. Students from seventt semester and onwards are eligible for the campus placements. 2. There are ample numbers of comapnies visited in our college like schneider electric, bpcl, bhel, bhel, reliance, catterpillar, eil, and so on. As per the last year data around 130 comapnies made in to our campus and they offered around 800 plus offers to various studenst of different departments. 3. The highets package offered this year is 60 lakhs that is offered by DE Shaw and average package is something around 11 laks per annum 4. Taking considerations of students of all departments, almost 70 percent students get placed. 5. Presently my plan after getting degree is to get into a job.

Microtex, HCL, Wipro and many other IT companies gives us research projects and also their work as well. So, we basically have indirectly worked for them and the ones they feel can add more to their organization comes with a clear mind and take us with a package that we expect them to. So, placements are purely on performance as those who perform well are given best of placements.
