Likes
- The psychology department is the leading department of the college. Teachers are polite and excellent in their field. We have 3 labs in the department and enough inttuments.
- We have a strict anti-ragging cell. Other than ragging we have right to complain against any type of harassment by faculty members. We have departmental libraries, archives, Science & arts library also.
- The canteen provides delicious food in cheap price, they also change menu everyday. We can also study or do our stuffs there.
Dislikes
- The bathrooms are not clean and lack maintenance and water.
- The lift in the psychology department is not working for 6-7 months but no one repaired it. It's problematic for pwd students, teachers and who have emergencies.
Course Curriculum Overview
The reputation of the college, and reviews from senior students influenced me to take admission to Bethune college. The college environment changed me a lot, my personality got improved, I got to know more about life, my perspective about life developed. I think demonstration method should be introduced it improves the teaching. The exam timings got affected for the election's and questions were bit intellectual but helped to improve writing skill.
Internships Opportunities
We have summer internship opportunities as per NEP rules. Other than that we have NSS unit which takes part in social services. We have a placement cell also. Companies like Infyosis, Tata etc. provide jobs to college students.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it is a government college tuition fees are so affordable. We get quality education in affordable price. It took me about 2000 rupees to take admission, exam fees are also very low. We got scholarships like Kanyashree, SVMCM, OASIS, Aikyashree and many more.
Campus Life
We have our annual program AALAP which is a whole intimate fest close to our heart. Frequently college coducts seminars about different topics like- mental health programs, information about abroad studies, different courses, computer courses, department wise topics etc. We have different extracurricular activities clubs like- art and craft, photography, science and environment, quiz, debate, literary etc. Bethune college conducts annual sports every year, students and teachers participate in it.
Admission
Eligibility of the course is 12 pass with 50%. Bethune college has its own website , they provide application process there. There is no application fees and they provide about 1.5 months to apply. They provide the necessary dates and notices. Overall it's a smooth way.
Faculty
Teachers try to admit us whenever we need them. They teach us the easiest ways possible and conduct doubt clearance classes also. If they get busy with other faculty work they conduct online classes. We can ask them questions personally. We have a counseling cell also. Psychology professors run it and it's confidential. They make mentor groups also where they provide more knowledge about our subject other than the academic syllabus by showing films, suggesting books, and discussing topics face to face. We can also share our personal problems, any types of experiences, jokes, etc.
